  1. Stop picking on me.
  2. I was finally hit today and had no issues. Does it count if it was an over 28 league? I forgot to power up the force shield. The Team Wendy mask pads helped as after it hit the protector it went up to the face mask. I hate those and the ones off the forearms. And puppies, I hate puppies.
  3. I am looking at possibly purchasing some Under Armour Yard Baseball Trainers because they come in a wide size. That being said, has anybody used them and are they actually wide? I bought a pair of Reebok Filed Magistrates that were labeled 4E and they weren't even close to a 4E. Really need some help on this one guys. Thanks.
  4. I love my Unequal Force 3 chest protector.
  5. Congratulations to both of you.
  6. I would make it a point to personally recruit the better umpires in your area, not the most experienced ones. I would have a butt ton of training on mechanics, not just rules. Stress how it is the individual umpires responsibility to learn the rules. I think it better to teach them how to umpire than to make them rule book lawyers. Then start cultivating the AD's in your area and let them know about your product. Be strict with the members at meeting. They are there to learn, not have a bunch of sidebars. I try to make it to where the members want to participate in the meetings. We find it better to separate the so called legends in their own minds from the younger, inexperienced umpires so that they can have a learning experience.
  7. So no matter an umpire's background, in his first year, he's working freshman/soph games? If he can ump, he can ump and they should be able to do the highest games if he is ready. This waiting crap is mainly a way for the guys who have been in the association longer to maintain their status. At one point in our association, you had to wait two years to get varsity ball. BS! Tell me why a guy coming from the minor leagues should have to go through two years of probation? I realize that there are older officials who have been umpiring for say, 25 years. Doesn't mean they have been doing it correctly for 25 years. Too much good old boys club involved with the probation issue. Don't hold them back because they haven't been in your association. At one point we had guys held back who could umpire circles around the officials who were in the association for a long period. But, you probably get my point. I am now the president and I want nothing more than for my jr guys to get good fast. Even to the point that I convinced a college association instructor to take on the instructor position in the local high school association.
  8. You know what? I could always feel when someone punched me in my West Vest before running down the first baseline to start the game. I don't feel anything different with the Unequal.
  9. Got to agree here. I'm not a seasoned vet with thousands of games under my belt, but I've taken plenty shots to the shoulders, chest, thighs, shins, feet, crotch. Can't think of a single shot to the gut. (I'm sure I'll get one now first time out this spring Both of you are now doomed this year! I've taken two in the last two years, one a fairly mild glancing blow from a crossed-up catcher, the other a pretty hard hit right smack in the middle from a 55 foot bouncer. In the end it wasn't that bad, I guess, but it doubled me over at the time. I've been hit in the fat muscle numerous times. Those 55' fastballs hurt.
  10. I would absolutely consider wearing them and spending the bucks if they're done right. I love my Unequal chest protector
  11. Ok. I just did a D2 game and a Juco game and still didn't get hit in the Force Shield by Unequal. I was hit in the foot, bicep, right thumb which then deflected into the good old cup. Thought I broke my thumb, but today it is better. Had some big crocodile tears though.
  12. If this unequal is ball repellent maybe they should think about making a cup out of the material!!! Too funny, dude.
  13. Why can't I get hit in the Force 3? HS game tonight, hit in bicep. May the force be with you.
  14. I agree. Try not to suck.
  15. I gotta have more cowbell and mesh baby
  16. YESSSSSSSS! Took one off shoulder Friday. Nothing. Took one off of protector in the left pectoral. Nothing. Had a plate today in a jr college game and again it repelled the baseball. It is a force shield from evil. I also put a delta harness and it keeps it in place very well.
  17. Man, I wore the thing again today and nothing got near the protector. I will let you know when I get hit.
  18. Don't know if this has been talked about, but have wore these for four games and they are absolutely amazing. Had a pair of West Vest but like these better.
  19. I wear the Force 3 and it should be renamed the Force shield unequal. I swear I have been hit everywhere but the protector since buying it. I replaced the straps with a delta harness and it doesn't move around, don't have to keep adjusting it. I feel safe wearing it. As far as the shin guards, who in their right mind would put the foam outside? See any other manufacturers that do that? West Vest probably could have did that, but didn't. It wouldn't sell because it would look ridiculous. Kind of like criticizing a movie without seeing it or badmouthing a restaurant while never actually eating there.
  20. He should be backing up and pointing at the coach. It doesn't matter how hard he touches the umpire, the coach shouldn't have did it.

    Newbie

I'll say it anyway. Try not to suck.
  22. Congratulations to all and here's to a nice, relaxing retirement.
  23. I remember when I first started out that Plus Pos was the outfit to get all of your gear. Great service, great gear to go with it. I haven't ordered anything from them in ages. Didn't they go under and start over?
  24. As a St Louis Cardinals fan born and raised in St Louis, Stan was the man and Albert realized this and absolutely honored it. He didn't cater to the fan base about this. I did not get to see him play the game, but was always thrilled to hear stories about his heroics. The most underrated player in baseball. And he was an even better man.
  25. What's the big deal about asking a question even if you don't search? Nobody forces you to read the blog. Go to another page.
