  1. I read somewhere that the ejection was appealled and upheld by the TD, region director and Williamsport as well.
  2. I was taught to wait for the release, even if I had to wait until he was in the dugout. It just so happened that I was taught that at CDP by my crew chief my first year up there, and he is also just down the road here in Georgia as well. ( I will not know what to do when I go up there and don't have a crew chief from the state of Georgia)
  3. They don't want the call to be right. They want the call to go their way.
  4. boy does that look familiar
  5. I was going off of memory of what was posted at that point and was off on what base it was (1st and 3rd, I had 2nd and 3rd in my head for some reason) and was using a general answer.
  6. Chicago came out to challenge with a chain link fence we might be able to get it without IR
  7. It's a time play, but the run only scores if the runner touches the plate before the 3rd out is recorded at second.
  8. Getting hit by equipment has nothing to do with intimidation. It has to do with stupidity on the part of the batter.
  9. Alan, you are on the island by yourself. Good ejection.
  10. Your browser does not support iframes. Your browser does not support iframes. well I see things are not posting when embeded
  11. Missed plate...appealled and out is called. That's gonna hurt
  12. What a crock. Spend a fortune on a system to get the 4 or 5% of pitches that the system thinks that the umpire got wrong. Would they spend a fortune like that to raise a batting average by 4 or 5 points?

    9th inning

2-0 after the batter runner completes his/her 4 base award.
  14. I was thinking home run as well. My thought was a ball that hits the top of the fence and goes over is a home run. You learn something new every day.
  15. There are some fields around here that have way too much dirt around the plate. A batter coming to the batter's box will knock a ton of dirt on there just be walking up. On this type of field I have started sweeping the plate and then taking my foot and pushing dirt out of the area in hopes that it doesn't end up on home plate during the next batter. I have seen the multiple slide issue mostly at the younger rec level where the coaches have taught them to slide no matter what. I had a gapper with 3 kids sliding into home.
  16. I wouldn't stake my life on that if I were you.
  17. How many shirts are you carrying to have a shirt with and without a number for each color?
  18. MC and buh bye to the runner.
  19. You've never had multiple runners slide into home on the same play?
  20. Umpire judgement comes into play on this, though there is some validity to what Rolo said. I think I have kept 3 or 4 in the box in my 4 years of calling baseball.
  21. Judgement calls are non-negotiable. That said, the R3 must go back and touch third to not be called out on an appeal.
  22. We can't count that...or the navy polos.
  23. It also gives your partner a heads up as to what you saw.
  24. I worked with @Umpirechick1 at CDP and then down here as soon as she came back. I believe that is the only UE peep I have worked with.
  25. Here is the video of the recent Catcher's Balk.
