You really expect an organization as large as NFHS to catch such a big mistake? Hell, they kept the jewery rule in for ages and kept forgetting to take it out.

@Velho, that reminds me of a frustrating thing I had happen this spring, relevant to Rulebooks… 

We often correct each other here, it’s not a Dropped 3rd Strike (D3K), it’s an Uncaught 3rd Strike (U3K). 

Well, this year, I had to take the NCAA, NAIA, and the NJCAA tests, so to say that I was feeling a bit harried is an understatement. Because I knew of how exact the NCAA can be in their vernacular, I attempted to look up the citation of a few rules so as to get them exactly right, word for word. 

So, we search 🔍 “uncaught”… 0 results. Hmm 🧐… check spelling of “uncaught”. Nope, correct… 0 results. What gives? 

It turns out the NCAA Rules Committee does not believe that the word “uncaught” exists. They use “not caught”.
