It's been several months since I was active here, but I don't remember all this ads riddled through each post. Is this something new?

 

Is there a way for me to donate/subscribe to get rid of this SH*#? I really like the info and community, but the ads have been killing me.

I just made a separate post in off topic about this. I have been away from the forums for awhile, but these ads are the worst. What can be done about them?

5 or 6 adds in a thread that has two posts is ridiculous

Try AdBlock.  It's free and it works.  I'm sure there are other similar..

I access from work most often and cannot use browsers and other tools which I would like to use. My issue is not the ads themselves... but that they are displaying over content.

This seems to come and go, but I get them over the “Submit Reply” button periodically.

I believe the CDC has issued guidance on social distancing for ads ... they should be at least six screen-scrolls apart now.  Plus, it is recommended there are no more than 50 on a page.

It's ridiculous! There are almost as many ads as posts...

Ok there are not supposed be so many ads per page. I will work on it this weekend. I haven't made any changes to the Google AdSense settings in years. 

Is this increase in the number of ads new?

There are supposed to be several tiers:

Unregistered visitors: Game on, they get the max

Registered: Less ads

I saw this in another thread. I'm going to take a look at it this weekend. I haven't made any changes to my settings in years, so I'm assuming something else has changed. 

My goal is to use ads obviously to generate revenue, but I don't want them being obnoxious or interfering. I'll place an update to see if things have improved once I look at it.

I'll just add as a long-time user, that the ads on this site have exploded in the last 3 months or so.  Just corroborating what others have said.

On my iPhone using safari and windows computer I have not noticed any ads in threads. Wonder what the difference is?

I have never had a problem with ads. I use an ad blocker (not sure what) as I detest ads. There are still some but not over threads !
