I been out over ten years. Old timers taught me to fold my hats up and close pin them. The flex fit caps I were given aren't good for folding up. I have to fitted combo hats that could be folded. Anybody still do this and if so can u post some pics of the procedure and how you do it. Thanks.

Yes. I'm Dave and I'm a crease-a-holic.

Hahaha. Steam iron with wet pillow case to prevent scorching wool and making hat shiny.

The legit guys around here are nearly all creasing. I hate the look, but looks like I need to get over it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Creasing is very common in our business. I just think it is habit for old timers. Richardson ump series caps and the new era ump series hats have reinforced crowns so it is better than a crease. You just have to maintain it by folding and storing correctly. I compare it to using shoe polish on NB plate shoes. Sure you can do it that way, but why? There are so many more efficient ways to maintain the shine they had when new. I enjoy the traditions of our business and I take pride in looking as professional possible. I just think how you get there should not be as important as your end result....... in regard to aesthetics anyway.

Here are pics of my case as requested:

P.S. This is my very first post! Thanks to all who participate. You bastards have cost me a couple hundred bucks (new cp harness, mask pads, powder coating services and new mask) and 20 hours of my life and this is my first week as a member! Would have saved hundreds if I showed up here years ago! Thanks for all you do and share.

It will be tomorrow before I can take the pics.

That New Era Carrier is the one. Bought it from amazon.com. Considered Lids brand but liked the shape of NewEra one better. Seemed it would hold more hats.

I wear Richardson hats. Six or eight stitch.

Recently tried an eight stitch behind the plate and really like it. I wear mask harness very loose and the longer bill seems to support the mask better.

I wear hats very tightly on my head so hat stays put when I pull mask off. I still have a few old 4 stitch hats but haven't worn them for a couple of seasons.

There is something therapeutic about shining shoes the right way. With the right tools, the weekly shine and game time cleaning takes not much more time and keeps the leather supple. That's why.

Uncreased caps are player caps. They should be creased even with reinforced crowns.

I have this one with 10 hats folded. Love it. Buy one, you won't regret it.

this may be out of the blue and all and probably pretty weird, but are you Mr. Twister on Illinois matmen?! I saw your plate coat photos and if you're not then I'm going to feel very stupid!

Yes I am. So no need to feel stupid. LOL

Creasing hats is such a habit of mine that the last few years while I still played, I creased my game caps.

Creased caps look so weird. And bad. I am a firm nonbeliever in needing to crease. It just gets uncreased as you wear it anyways.
