Would you do this/is it safe?

Now that it is finally fall the air is getting cooler. 

 

The other night it was actually "cold" 50's I was on the bases and since it was twilight I was wearing my new Oakley's with transition lenses my wife got me (they are great but that's another thread). It was one of those games where I had a lot of running around on the bases. Well I generated enough heat to cause my lenses to fog over and had to take them off.

 

I use Fog-X on the interior of my car windows, on the mirrors in my bathrooms and thought what about using it on my glasses. I don't think it would do any harm, but that could be an expensive mistake. I was wondering if any of you had any experience with this? I'd be less worried if they weren't the Transitions SOLFX photochromic lenses.

Sometimes I will get fog when I'm on the plate.  

 

I've never fogged when not on the plate.  

 

Seems to me like a call to your local lens shop and they could give you the advice you need.

 

There is a member on here who works in an eye glass shop, but I can't remember who.

I would contact Oakley to see what they recommend. I'm not sure Fog-X would be compatible.

I use fog x on my oakleys. Theyre different lenses, but I doubt it would hurt them. I use the g80 lenses.

I would check with Oakley just to see if there might be an issue with the warranty if you use it.

I use Cat Crap on my glasses, umpire, sun and motorcycle.  I swear by it.

 

Amazon sells it, Campmor sells it.  I little goes a long way.

My Middle school son plays baseball and football and he wears the RECSPECS sports frames. We have been using a soft gel product that the military uses called C-Clear, and it is great. Sometimes he can go three days of practice between recoats. www.c-clearantifog.com. Very good product and very fast service. I live in Tennessee and they ship it out of Nevada and I usually get my order in about four days. One container will last you a few years.

I have this as well. But the blue paste requires me to remive my lenses from the frame (radars) or have residual cat crap on my specs.

Yeah they do, but I just buy the single 2oz gel cup, they last a long time. The gel has a higher concentrate of material than the liquid does. Actually the instructions say to use small amounts on each side of the lens. Less is good.

I'm a fan of cat crap. It's safe for any type of lens. I'm not sure about Fog-X on lenses.  It's made for glass windshields and might harm a plastic or polycarbonate lens or it's coatings. Jocko says he uses it on his Oakleys with no problems, then it should be fine on an Oakley transition also. If your lenses have an anti-reflective coating, that's another issue and I'm not sure if fog-X may harm that coating. The chemicals that make a transition lens change are actually injected into the lens, where an anti-reflective coating or a mirror coating is applied to the surface. Cat crap is safe on all lenses...and it works.

I bought some of the spray from C Clear. Do you guys apply this stuff right before going on the field?

You can, but for my son, I usually apply it at home about an hour before he has to be at school to play.
