If you replace the pad the size does not matter. All the plastic is the same size. Just drop the long bottom plastic strip and you are good to go.

No under arm protection? I'm thinking about clipping off the wings on my WV Gold. The one on Ebay has the under arm padding. Did you clip yours off?

^^^^^^^^^ That's the new version of the Umpire's Locker Room. It will come out next March. It's just not quite as portable as the old one ^^^^^^^^^^^^

No offense toward the owner of that riddell, but it was in pretty bad condition from the photos he gave.  It is missing the riddell power sticker with the lightning bolt and the plastic plates were scuffed pretty bad.  Those who want that piece of equipment want one that is in much better condition.

The thing of it is, that if a person were to buy it, they'd probably retro fit it in the first place.  Really you're buying the plastic plates that you wear under your jersey or maybe exposed w/ your plate coat.   My CP isn't exposed when I wear my plate coat, so I'm not sure that the stickers/decals would be that big of a deal.  To the buyer, though, they'd get to decide what they need in a CP

You don't buy one of those for its protective qualities, as it's in the ballpark of a $40 Champion (and that's not a bad thing). It's totally a "cool factor" piece, like a plate coat. And like a plate coat, you don't want a ratty one.

 

I had a fellow pay crazy money for a few pair of Hardwicks pants I came across at a local Goodwill. And the only way you can tell the difference is the white pockets. But it him, it was worth it.

 

I don't scoff at the cool factor. I drive a ol' '67 Mustang. It's uncomfortable, loud, bad handling, had a crappy stereo,and is gas unfriendly compared to my daughter's Honda Civic. But it's cool. And cool has a price.

 

I do wonder how much that Riddell would have fetched if he started the auction at a buck. You need two to tango for pieces like these, and starting it at 4 bills was not the way to go. We'll see if he relists it.

That's a good point.   The structure of the deal may have been a problem.
