After I got my new gear in, I tried on my shirts over the gold. While they still fit (and be useable as back ups), they are a little short. So, my question is, does anyone use smitty brand shirts? How do they fit? Any problems with fading, tearing, pilling etc?

I use Smitty shirts and I love them. I've washed my navy blue 100 times and it still looks as good as the day I got it. They fit great and I have yet to have one come untucked during a game. No problems with tearing or anything either. Very nice in the heat also.

I wore Smitty last year and I have went back to Honig's this season. The quality of the Smitty shirt is just fine and I didn't have any issue with pilling, fading, etc. I simply found the material to be very heavy and not breathable.

Tons of info out on the equipment forum ............this is just one of them but good info

I've heard others say that about Smitty but I've never had an issue with them myself.

This was how I felt w/ my Cliff Keen shirts.

I've got one CK shirt, and only get to wear it about once a year. It's like wearing a sweater.

Intoxicating, ain't it :)

I like the Smitty shirts because their weave is similar to that of the type of performance wear I like to wear. I wear an All Star CP and wear a larger size on the plate so everything fits right and the shirts tucks properly.

I wear them even in July/August and don't notice them to be any warmer than any other shirt I've tried. Hot is hot at that point.

i have had smitty shirts and wore them for one game and gave them away, went back to honigs shirts just because they breathe SO MUCH BETTER! I can't believe that UA is going to be giving MILB Smitty shirts, i bet that only lasts until the next CBA and they demand better shirts.

I used one of the new Smitty shirts last summer at a Sr. Babe Ruth Regional...temp was in high 90's to low 100's. I found the shirt to be very roomy, light and breathed very well. I have an older model Smitty that is not so good...build in fantastic, just not as nice of material as the new ones. I will be purchasing Smitty when I replace current inventory in the closet...my SWMBO will let me replace all of my used shirts!

I would think UA would be supplying their own shirt to MiLB. Have you heard differently?

I have a few Smitty shirts and like them. I prefer my Ump-Attire shirts, but on days it is just a bit too cool for the UA short sleeve and too warm for a long sleeve I wear a Smitty. Others are correct the CK shirts are like sweaters. My first powder was a CK and it was so thick you lost any advantage of a lighter color with the thickness. But they do hold up forever.
