At 1:00 today, I ordered some new equipment from http://ump-attire.com ... CP, two pairs of shoes, shirts, bags, hats, etc.... At 2:45 I got the UPS shipping confirmation. Since the total was over $300, shipping was free and the invoice said it would take 5-6 days. Wrong. It'll all be here Friday (2 days)!  :notworthy:  :beerbang  :rock

CP-wise, I had to go with a cheap... um, inexpensive... hard shell, so I got the Champion Body Armor P-2 15". I REALLY needed the extra length, and I had a budget. At $55, it matched both. Next spring, it's a West Vest or something similar and even harder.  I've had one before (stolen) and I really liked it. It took some monster shots from some hardball pitchers and I hardly felt a thing, but it can get a little scratched up. It doesn't quite cover the collarbone until I get in my crouch, then it seems to ride up just a little and covers everything.  If I had the extra $100 to spare...

Shoes: Plate- Reebok Zig Magistrate (Low cut & all black); Bases: NB all black, just regular, and price was a factor... this time. Clicker-wise, I made sure to get a "balls first" (balls, THEN strikes side by side, up top.). The rest is just normal stuff, though they do seem be out of long-sleeve shirts in a size that won't make me look silly. Does saying I got the "Mongo sized" Nutty-Buddy count for anything? ;)

Only if it fits.

Found a hidden page on Ump-Attire's site that details the uniform for MiLB this year ( I might be late to the party on this).

http://www.ump-attire.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Store_Code=UA&Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=_MILB

I Found the note below about the pants interesting.

The Ump-Attire pants are a premium grade poly-wool and are made in the USA. You can view the 2012 version below. However, the 2013 version, is currently on order and will be different. It will have a fitted waistband and will have an additional feature that will aid in comfort and wear (more on this later).

I love the UA Polywools because of the waist band. I am a little sad that they are changing it. Anyone know what is going on and when the 2013s might be available. I noticed they are starting to run out of certain sizes of the 2012. I am trying to drop some weight and planed to order pants for 2014. Hopefully the new ones will be as good as what I got last year.

On another UA note, I kept waiting for them to restock the Ultimate shirts, but they still have not and I was forced to go to another supplier. Hate that they don't have any stock when most of us that call HS and College ball are stocking up. According to phone conversation I had with them today, they have no idea as to the ETA of the shirts.

Please God tell me a member of MY association didn't just use the word "Clicker" in his post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead:

I was wondering who was going to spot that! Sure took a while though. A funny story came to mind as I was typing "indicator", so I tossed it in. I also thought about adding dark blue shirts...

I think this is funny ..........

This comment is coming from someone who has repeatedly stated and claimed "get the calls right" is paramount, and shunned the "what not to wear threads", etc,etc.....but then rips one of his association members for using the incorrect term for an indicator?  :smachhead:

Snaredrum,

Nothing wrong with that protector whatsoever, you'll like it, and when the time comes to upgrade, keep that for your backup!   When looking for something new, if you're needing the length, look at either the All-Star or the Douglas ...... both offer 15" models

I almost pulled the trigger on the All-Star this time. The Champion is good, but an upgrade is coming more sooner than later if everything works out. I'll keep the Douglas in mind, too. Thanks!

Ripping one of my association members...no.  Poking fun...yes.

#1 Priority - Get your calls right.

#2 Priority - Work hard.

#3 Priority - Do things the right way on and off the field.

#4 Priority - Look the part - maintain a professional appearance.

#5 Priority - Have fun.

Debating whether to wear certain pieces of attire like we're some sort of authority is stupid.

SD, when it comes to CPs, I absolutely LOVE my Champion P210. It fits well, superb protection, comfort. I've had most of the top-of-the-line models including the System7

I feel like UA is slipping.  Smitty to the MiLB guys, still out of stock on a bunch of things (Ultimate Shirts) and its already almost "mid" February.  Really disappointed they didnt come out with their own jacket too.

Posted

According to UA customer service the shirt delay is do the location that the manufacturing company uses changing.

Not sure why they are changing the Polywools. Maybe it is a Hardwicks thing...but the product they put out last season was great.

In business some things are out of your control. Seems like this maybe happening here. Smitty shirts are fine, but not as good as the UA shirts. I hated that I had to spend money elsewhere, but I did. Hopefully in the future they will get the stock on items in January/early February since that is when most HS/college guys are stocking up.

Why should they come out with a jacket? they sell the Smitty as well ss the majestic. They are also the only place that has the black majestic with white piping.

That must be a huge seller among the college guys.
