Took my FHSAA Test

Took my test and believe it or not I passed!!!!

 

I did not score 100 like last year and of course they don't tell you what you missed till the season is halfway done.

 

So I am posting a couple of questions that I may have missed to see what your answers are.

 

1. For an appeal of a missed base to be made, the ball must first be made live.

29) Per FHSAA rules, any remaining play may be shortened or the game terminated by mutual agreement of the opposing coaches and the umpire-in-chief.

90      but I am pi$$ed. The last 2 years I have gotten a 98 and 100

 

 Not to make excuses but I picked the wrong time to do it.

 

Sitting in my office, no one around so I decided to Start the test. As soon as I hit Start test the phone starts ringing and people coming to my office

 

I ended up finishing the last question with less than 1 minute to go. Oh well may be they will throw out a couple of the ones I missed.

I agree with Johnny08s answers but I wonder if the OP tried looking them up in the book first.  they seem pretty basic to me, well except for the one thats FL specific.  I do see how people could misread the one where it says obstructed instead of unobstructed.

 

And i wonder what in your area is the difference between 98 and 90?  Does it affect your games or any promotion or any post season?

No I didn't look it up during or after the test. Like I said picked a wrong time to do it at work.

 

And no the score will not affect me at all. But once you become a Rank 1 you have to score 90 or better to keep it.

 

Those are just the one I think I may have missed. After reading Johnny's answers I only missed number 50. So I have no idea what else I missed.

a. there is a balk (5-1-1a, 6-2-4) or a pitch strikes a runner (6-1-4);

b. he is forced from the base he occupies by a following runner who must advance because a batter receives a fourth ball, or is hit by a pitched ball, or hits a fair ball which becomes dead (5-1-1f, g);

                    1.  recieves a fourth ball

                    2.  is hit by a pitched ball, or;

                    3.  hits a fair ball that becomes dead (5-1-1f,g)

Is it just me or does anybody else miss the "old days" when we all gathered together for the annual testing dates? I used to enjoy getting together with Umpires from all over the area, taking the test and then the grand debates ad nauseum held in the hallways over test questions. It was a chance to talk with guys you didn't always see, from other Assn. and get different views.

I realize its a different online world these days but I do really miss it. There is a good article from Referee on the Arbiter Site talking about a possible change to online forum for the NCAA regional clinics in the future, its a good read. Like me the author makes a case for the in person meeting.
