Personal preference and fit. If possible, try them both on and decide for yourself. I personally prefer gold. But there are many who prefer platinum.

Same here. I have tried on the platinum way back when and found it to be more bulky then even the gold. Also didn't Luke the fit around my neck. (Its the same reason I didn't go with the All Star System7)

See, I like the Platinum because of how it fits around my neck (high and tight). Plus, I think it has superior collar bone protection.

 

Everybody is different. Some, more than others.

Go try it on, go try it on, go try it on.  I've owned both and I love my platinum because of the way it fits.  But I had to try both in order to make that decision.

I know we preach for people to search. BUT these questions do give us something to talk about till the season starts rolling around. Plus we have a lot of new people that might be interested in the topics as well.

Concerning the system 7, it has a very snug fit around the neck. Great clavicle and bottom rib protection. I still prefer the Gold to it. I'm probably a minority of 1, but my favorite is old faithful 15" Champion. Fits great. Comfortable. Inexpensive (new about $50). And great protection. Wish the WVG came in 15". My next CP purchase will be a 15" Douglas that I'll ship from them to TW for immediate retrofit. About a $300 investment, but when I'm done, 15" Douglas/TW/T-Hooks. Probably be late spring. Hopefully.

Will TW retrofit a Douglas?  I have not seen or heard of a one...

sadly, no. Sheilah says therek* no way to attach the pad to th plastic :(
