Majordave Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 @JoHart10 You, sir, are what they call an opportunist. Your purchases at those prices make most of your purchases investments. Keep up the good work. Quote
Platejob29 Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 People are free to spend their money how they want, but I'm confused why one would need more than two masks at the very most at any given time. He who dies with the most gear wins. Having two masks in the gear bag is a must for me at all times. You never know when something will go wrong with your primary mask and may need to use the back up. Quote
rjt6 Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Here is my Wilson will all star throat guard. I used a sharpie to black out the all star logo b/c an all star throat guard on a Wilson mask looks kinda stupid.Just my $0.02 1 Quote
rjt6 Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 My lot for the year: 1st row: +Pos Zero-g silver w/ tan Honigs leather pads, +Pos Zero-g charcoal w/ black +Pos leather pads 2nd row: Wilson w/ 2-tone wrap around pads, Nike w/ black honigs leather pads, Wilson w/ dark tan +Pos leather pads 3rd row: Diamond w/ black & tan All-Star pads, Wilson w/ black non-wrap Wilson leather pads. @JoHart10 Â Is that bottom right mask a Dyna-Lite or Powder coated titanium? Mr Ump Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 I bought the same mask. Didn't like the color of the pads vs the mask so I sold the pads to a member here and ordered black Team Wendy's. Can't wait to put that together with the silver sun shield. I think it is a sharp and unique frame. Pics coming.... Quote
JoHart10 Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 @rtj6...acpar72 & I investigated it a little, we believe it is a discontinued steel catcher mask version with out the dynalite coating, but that's just our best guess. It is substantially lighter than a traditional dynalight. We didnt think it was the aluminum version because it is not a matte black like the aluminum. I really like it for a black mask. Quote
rjt6 Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 Hey rtj6, I can still see it @NovaScotiaBlue  Ya I know, I just used a sharpie... not great at coloring!!! Quote

I noticed the bars seemed like they had the same thickness as the titanium above it. Just wasn't sure if it was powder coated Ti or a dyna-lite. Â I never had thought about removing the rubber part around the steel frame. Quote

Lala Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 Is cutting off the extended throat guard purely cosmetic or is there a legitimate safety reason? Â I love the look. 1 Quote
gnhbua93 Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 Those pads looks like Mizuno pads. 1 Quote
catcher Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 Is cutting off the extended throat guard purely cosmetic or is there a legitimate safety reason? Â I love the look. My understanding is that if you use a dangler-style throat guard, the throat extension most masks come with is unnecessary. The goal of the dangler when it is worn correctly is to swing into the chest protector if it is hit. Therefore, the extension just adds weight. Quote
