I wore my new Majestic Thermabase Jacket to one of clinics last night and it was very warm. I love it!

The question I have is:

Why don't Umpire jackets ever have pockets?

I know the whole thing about not being professional by having your hands in your pockets during a game and all that. But I wear my jacket to other places as well.

Maybe I will have pockets put in mine! Just kidding.

But seriously is there a REAL reason for the no pockets?

I have pockets in the two of my regular jackets (black with white piping) and absolutely hate them! I think it looks bad, and I think that's the reason most do not have pockets!

I guess I don't see why it looks bad. Every other Jacket in the world has pockets. Just keep hands out of pockets during a game.

Here is a review of the jacket on youtube. The reviewer paid to have pockets put into his jacket

Thats great. I see nothing wrong with that. Just keep your hands of of them during a game! Zip it up during the game and you will be less tempted.

Thanks for sharing.

I guess I don't understand why you really need pockets in an umpire jacket? I understand the breast pocket if you're wearing it on the plate, but why would you need the other pockets?

I plan on wearing this jacket other places not just umpiring. I would never put hands in pockets during a game but I would out in public places.

I just dropped it off at the seamstress. I will post pics

if its cold enough for my hands to need to go in the pockets, I wear gloves......

I do too in the field

Haven't you guys ever seen MLB plate guys jam there hands into the pockets of their plate coats during cold games? What's the big deal?

I was thinking it. I guess I was just too chicken to say it.

when its cold and i'm on the plate i put my hands in my ball bags between pitches. nobody has ever said anything about it.

Sorry had to laugh when I read that. Mind is in the gutter. dry.gif

I picked up my Jacket from the seamstress today.

I know a lot of you are against the pockets but I think it came out great.

I would think plate guys can jam their hands in there because most would not wear gloves behind the dish.

And I guess most umpires don't wear their jackets out and about.

How is this Jacket for 70 degree rainy weather? Too warm? Just curious.

It might be to Thick for 70's

Since is wear a LS shirt behind the plate I do use gloves when it gets cold...45 or below. Below 40 I'll breakout the jacket but I hate my Honigs, the sleeves are short! I am looking at the Majestic for next season...

Probably a little warm for the 70s. Unless it is really windy. A great jacket for cold wether though.

If it's above 60 you will burn up!

Definitely. I wore it with another guy on the bases this last spring in a college game. We thought it was going to stay in the low 50s, but the sun came out and it warmed up into the 60s during the game. We were having to unzip them between innings to cool off because we were so hot. These jackets are really warm.

I think the sleeves are made short intentionally
