Okay, so I never used a cup for the 15 years I played and the 5 I've umpires. But lately, I've been getting a lot of close calls. And now its time to protect the boys. Can't decide between the shock doctor or nutty buddy.

Seriously? I can't imagine. IMO the Shock Doctor is one step above nothing. It was not very "roomy" and the one I had was too "flexible". I use an All Star brand one that is very comfortable and protective. This is used by several MLB catchers. It fits into a conventional jock.

Wow... I didn't think before I posted. I guess I jinxed myself and I've got 10u games left. FML

You're insane. Look up ruptured testicle on Google images and see if you still want to keep working games without a cup.

Pick yourself up a shock doctor titanium and thank me after you take a bouncer off the jewels and feel absolutely nothing.

Love my Shock Dr. Carbon Fiber....

I have the Shock Doctor Carbon fiber cup and really like it. I took one shot to the cup and between innings my partner asked if the ball hit me in the CP and I told him hit me in the cup and he said it sounded like the CP from the bases.

But 5 years w/o one???? I'll go out without a mask before I go out without a cup. I actually have 4 in my gear bag just to make sure I'm never without.

Thats totally insane to even think about, but i have the nutty buddy and love it. By the way anybody watch americas got talent and the guy that his talent was getting kicked in the nuts and not feeling it. I almost threw up watching it.

I spent the ~$30 on a Nutty Buddy. I hated it! Wore it 3-5 times, and never took it out of the bag again. Unfortunately, that is one piece of equipment that not many people want to purchase used! It never seemed to work right, and was completely uncomfortable to me. And yes, I wore it correctly. I had sliders on under it, and a jock on TOP. It did not "float" like they said it is supposed to for me. It stayed at my chest the whole damn time (exaggeration, but it seemed that way)!

Hell I'd even say the $8 one from Walmart is better then nothing! I use one I got at academy and it has saved me many times including uncaught fastballs straight in. But my next gear purchase will be the nutty buddy as much for comforts sake as anything, according to all I've read on U-E.

I think my next equipment purchase is going to be the nutty buddy. As far as the sizing goes, do you go with the height recommendation or the weight? I am 6 ft and 250. Based on the height I would go with the trophy but based on weight I would need the mongo...

I just want to make sure to order the correct size. Thanks!

When I was looking into the NB, ...I inquired, and I'm 5-11 and 225 and they recommended Mongo ...so yes

DON'T BUY A NB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's just my opinion...

Could you expand on that a little bit?

If there is nothing there to protect then why buy a NB? :fuel::fuel: :fuel:

I love a cup that digs into the side of my legs, rides up into the boys, lets some of the boys slip out the side and be just uncomfortable in general.

Please remember, this is my opine...YMMV
