I should have seen the retail price as a tip off that these weren't plate shoes. They list at over a C note. My fault. They just used the wrong, generic picture for Reebok Field Magistrates, and have now switched them to the correct ones. I simple F up, and not a conspiracy to swindle anyone. Heck, she's offered money back, and you get to keep the shoes. Now that's customer service.

She didn't offer the same offer to me when I asked for it. Said I could return them or keep them and get no refund. The description didn't say plate shoes, but the picture was clear as day. Very frustrating.

The picture (and price) are a base shoe, but the item description is for a plate shoe...

Kudos to the seller for doing the right thing...

Now THAT is just bad.... and they're price is $80! But if you scroll down a bit to "Related Products", you'll see the plate shoe is priced from $129 (mid) to $125 (low) !! So they're calling (at the link) them "plate shoes" but they're actually the base shoe, for $80. :crazy:

I used my Reebok plate shoes for the first time today, and they are amazing. They are without a doubt lighter and more comfortable than the New Balance plate shoes, which I wore all of last year. The only problem I had was that my pants kept getting hung up on the back of my shoes since they are low tops.

With these new plate shoes.( i get to use mine for the 1st time on tues.) what in the heck is up with the tongue? is it suppose to stand straight up?... not sure i like that yet? But wearing them around the house they feel good.

They won't stand straight up after you wear your shins on them for a couple of games.

Two things I am happy I purchased in Jan.

Reebok Plate shoes and NuttyBuddy.

I get to use both tomorrow for two games. :D

I just received my Reebok plate shoes and a pair of Reebok base shoes from ump-attire. I actually love the base shoes and could not ask for anything more. I think they look great, and love that the flap is velcro and can be easily removed.

With the plate shoes, though, the protective flap is a bit wide, and looks funny. If anyone else has these, do you agree? Do they wear in eventually and not look so funny. I did try them on with a pair of regular gym pants (the kind with the zipper at the bottom of the leg), but I don't think that is the entire reason they looked funny. I still like the look of them, and think I am going to love the turf traction on the bottom. Just curious if anyone else who owned a pair may have thought the same thing.

I ordered a size 11, like I wear in other Reebok shoes, but they seem to be a little snug, not painful.

Thinking of sending back for 11.5 , a half size is only a 1/4 inch and if necessary wearing double socks . Anyone out there who reads this and has purhased theses shoes jump in and let me know.

They did seem a bit snug at first, but they have been worn a few times now and have definitely gotten worn in. I would suggest staying with them and seeing how they turn out. I think you will be satisfied. I know that is tough saying considering they are $70, but I think you will be happy after a couple games.

With a navy shirt, I think you're supposed to wear red under shirt. I've never thought it was a big deal though.

Try to avoid wearing a white undershirt with any jersey, as you'll look like a lumberjack. The exception is a black jacket, where a white mock turtleneck looks snappy.

Check your organization or state rules. If there are none, check with your partner. In my organization, we wear navy undershirts. However, I have heard of the "last striping" rule, but have never seen in it effect.

I wear crew socks when I umpire. Normally, outside of umpiring, I wear no-show UnderArmour socks, but when I call I have to have the crew socks. I got mine from WalMart as I needed a few pair and cheap.

I rarely wear a navy shirt, but when I do, I too wear a red UnderArmour shirt. I use the "last stripe" rule as mentioned before.

My plate shoes fit just fine. I ordered an 11 in base shoes and an 11 in plate shoes as well, and haven't had a single problem from them. Love the fit of both! Good luck!

The base shoes are a little snug at first, put on two pair of socks and walked around house for about a half hour then took off one pair and put on pair pair of white sanitary socks underneath game socks and WOW, they feel and look great. The plate shoes were more than I expected, fit perfect, look great, and damn are they light in weight !!! My wife even mentioned they looked sharp!! You cannot go wrong with the Reebok line.

I just got to wear mine for the 1st time since I bought them.. they are very comfy, light and feel good.. I also have a pair of the NB 450's that are a yr old... well they are getting put up...LOL

I received my Reebok Mid Plate Shoes and they feel great! Can't wait to use them. Unfortunately I have no games until next week. Going Out of town for the weekend.

I picked up the 09' version of the Reebock Majistrate plate shoes this off season. Any suggestions as to how to dull down those "loud" Reebock stripes?

As far as the op the shoe is very comfortable, all-be-it a little "clubish" by design and a little wide for my foot. Not a big deal as I tend to just stand behind the plate as pu, not really moving for any reason other than to stretch out and strut up and down the baselines in between innings. Going out to overrule the bu when he has "obviously!" made a wrong call on any given play, any time. Even then I don't run... just walk.

No... really the shoes are imo going to work well, but time will tell and the season approaches. I wear a size 99.5 (perfect fit would be a 9.25) and ordered the latter just to be safe, just a hair big but better then a hair small. At this point I just need to figure how to minimize these damn strips!!!

No don't haha. I know a guy who doesn't like ANY WHITE on his shoes. Logos are all blacked out. He simply polished over the "N" on his 450s. My RBKs are on their way from ump-attire so I don't know if that will work on the magistrates.
