Just remember, it matters when R1 touches 3B and the ball goes OOP. If he touched it before the ball went OOP and not HP yet, he can return to touch 2B. If he touches 3B after the ball goes OOP, then he cannot return to touch 2B legally. Key word... he can physically, but not legally..LOL

nope.. this is a double play.. yes r2 was OBS.. but since there was not a play being made on him it will not make a difference.. Also i know in fed the signal... but please don't put out your left arm and hold it there.. that looks LL ish.....just point and say "that's OBS"

The problem is with an explanation like that, a myth is being perpetuated. It may have stopped him but for the wrong reason. The better, more appropriate response would have been the batter did nothing to interfere and F2 tried to make the batter interfere. Whether it stopped him or not is beside the point. The response would have been better supported by the rules if a protest is filed and the coach would know better if one of his batter's, while still in the box, gets called out for INT. At least, he would know his argument of "both feet in the box" is not a valid one even if he tried to pull it out of his a$. Now, it is a headache waiting for another umpire. Now you're talking about judgment, as in who initiated the contact, which, of course, is non-protestable. In this case, "both feet in the box" is a very important ingredient. If I were to use your response, which is also valid, that issue is now debatable, according to the defensive coach. Chances are pretty good that the result is a prolonged discussion as to who the offender is Both feet in the box have nothing to do with anything..the box is not a safe heaven for the batter..

Dumbdumb, they are teaching that if that PU doesn't see this, to kill it right away, but the BU better be 100% sure, but the manager can come out to get the PU ruling on the play, and what you said is nothing wrong, ( telling the coach that if the ball hit the players foot some one would have killed it)... I thought it was handled correctly.. heck even with the infrared we are still not a 100% sure it hit his foot.

Our rules guy who is our Chief Instructor is believed to be one of the top 5 rules guys in the country, Big leaders still call him to ask him rules..Harry's will teach you how to apply the rules on the field as well and knowing them.. Yea maybe at Harry's we didnt take 700 questions for rules test, cause we spent the rest of our time on the field learning to Umpire and apply those rules.. Also ask the Umpireschool guy on here he will answer any of your questions.

I wont lie... I don't wear one, and I took a nick in the throat.. I tried to wear one for a while, I don't like how it feels.. but if you have a good stance and good forward lean, you will reduce your chances of getting hit... But the baseball will always find you.

maybe, But I know with good forward lean, he will be able to see the low outside pitch... which is very important.

I for one put my hands in the same spot, and have heard nothing from some really good evaluators. Head height is good you feet look good, we cant tell if your in the slot and as noted Plate shoes. you have good forward lean.

if you fold it like in Kevins Pic.. it will get you the extra crease on the back of your hat as well.. and when all said and done, it looks pretty good.

I think they made their long term decision about Albert the moment they signed Holliday. It would probably be the best thing for St. Louis to lose Pujols. If they keep him, they'll have the best player in baseball, and no other significant talent to go with him. They won't be able to afford it. Tim. well with no talent they made it to the world series.. and lost their #2 pitcher before the season started, struggled with starting pitching all year, they get one more pitcher to go with Carpenter, and wainright.. they will be pretty tough...Pujols is not going anywhere...

Well as we all know with all the extra gear on it gets warmer behind the plate... this is why most of the time the Pu is wearing a short sleeve..and while your on the bases, and not moving as much, you will not stay as warm. ( hence the jacket)

You mean, like this? Kevin, it's similar, but not quite the same. You take the back of the hat and actually wrap it over the bill. Watch the video and it will make more sense. Dont do this your umpire Cap... fold it on top of the fold you already made, just like Kevin's.. it's really not that hard.
