  1. I think there is no way this is navy.. heck they havent worn navy for 3 years, why would he even carry it..
  2. Doesn't he also have a stare down with Robinson that is stupid-funny too?? I'll try to find it! Hey Mike, ... Can you answer this .....here's a pro who does a great job, calls a great game like you say, ...answer me this....why can't he take off his mask without his hat coming with it?? I just don't understand it .....dont' get me wrong, I like Jim Wolf ...but I don't understand the hat thingy? that is something he does... if he like his hat off then its ok.... Rob drake does the same thing. Taking your hat off is fine .... he takes it off with his mask also, it's as if he can't take his mask off without his hat coming off as well. Rapuano does the same thing..... yep, this is something he does, all together, it is alright though.. I am sure you will not be marked down on this... maybe some of these guys are not hat guys.. 9 I like to wear a hat wherever I go anywhere)..

  4. you're going to say that Martinez moved his BACK FOOT into the pitch??? Please!! dont worry him and Kevin think the same thing...
  5. I like the way Jim handles the game... even in his ejections, he is not to big, or tries to act big. I like this video. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=6458903
  6. how is sending him to 1st not an option? the batter got HBP... and sticking his foot out there was not intentional.
  7. I think the real problem was that the PU blew the D3K and checkswing mechanic, and they had to go with HBP so it didn't look so bad. And if it was a HBP initially, where was the call of "time"? Tim. Well he didnt blow the checkswing mechanic BTW...that is what your suppose to do on a U3K
  8. South Bend Indiana. Some MSBL, but mostly HS and other 18U to 16U league play in multiple organizations. Is there a particular reason that you're asking? Tim. Just wondering, just wondering.....
  9. BigUmp56..where are you from? and what level of ball you work.. just wondering
  10. Hey Big Ump... I am just asking, what level of ball do you work? and where at?
  11. 8.02 The pitcher shall not— (a) (1) While in the 18-foot circle surrounding the pitcher’s plate, touch the ball after touching his mouth or lips, or touch his mouth or lips while he is in contact with the pitcher’s plate. The pitcher must clearly wipe the fingers of his pitching hand dry before touching the ball or the pitcher’s plate. EXCEPTION: Provided it is agreed to by both managers, the umpire prior to the start of a game played in cold weather, may permit the pitcher to blow on his hand. PENALTY: For violation of this part of this rule the umpires shall immediately call a ball. However, if the pitch is made and a batter reaches first base on a hit, an error, a hit batsman or otherwise, and no other runner is put out before advancing at least one base, the play shall proceed without reference to the violation. Repeat offenders shall be subject to a fine by the League President. It's still a violation if he does it anywhere in the dirt circle. And it's an immediate violation if the pitcher goes to the mouth and then to the ball without wiping. What the rule has clarified is that AFTER the violation, the pitcher has to wipe before he's allowed to touch the ball again. It's not something we should have called EVER as long as the pitcher wiped before he went to the ball, and it should have been a warning only if it happened. Tim. Remember he can now go to his mouth ANYWHERE in the dirt, just not touching the rubber....
  12. I was actually looking for this.. this is on my list of new Umpire gear for 2012.. a few of my Colleges assoc I work for require this.:kissass:
  13. because balks are one of the hardest things for Umpires to call, and can get us into trouble fast, so umpires are scared to call them.
  14. This past weekend, I saw Ed Hickox wearing these shoes... they look pretty sweet with our Poly wools on.. http://www.nextag.com/New-Balance-Mens-Lightweight-669251624/prices-html
  15. yep, it is the big leagues, they can do that up there.. the game is much more different than you guys think.. I get to ask some of these questions, and they tell me, it is not as it is made out to be...for once, why are we not sticking up for the umpire, instead we are quick to bash him.. he is in a place that many of us only dream about..
  16. Absolutely. It could have been handled professionally. It was..
  17. $190 is well worth it... the instructors, the training, you can not put a price tag on learning.
  18. oh and btw way, it has a option to pay with a Credit card.. and you can choose to eat dinner with Laz at Ruth's Chris steakhouse.
  19. Hey guys there is gonna be a Umpire clinic in Biloxi, MS Nov 4-6 .. Laz Diaz will be here, and a couple of MiLB guys.. it is a great clinic.. http://www.gcofficiating.com/ Any questions you cn ask me, I know the guy putting it on pretty well.
  20. Did you see what happen in the game the night before... Clayton was talking a bunch last night.... good call.
  21. This is a great deal... Heck I might me another book just to have.
  22. All mine is Plate Coat
  23. This was one of the main changes in 2011 CCA U3 has the choice on a lefty.. in the years previous you could on be on the 3rd base side or a "Deep C"
  24. Your writing is as good as mine, lol, but I think what you are saying is the same thing that I had in my answers above. yes we did say the same thing, but your had a comment on "unless it's strike 3" the number of strikes wouldn't make a difference. What i meant was that if the play started with zero or one strike then the batter would return with one or two strikes but if the play started with two strikes then the batter would retrun stil with two strikes. As always my writing could of been clearer. Cool, but I cant say anything aoubt yuor writing....LOL csuae mnie is jsut as bad...LOL BTW those last few words were just a joke...LOL
