  1. Ump Attire should have some, or just order it direct from All Star.
  2. Currently on ebay its still for sale. It has a "buy it now" listing.
  3. Contract sales rep and department mgr for a world wide steel company
  4. Tennessee is trying to follow you again this week. I went to bed with icy rain falling woke up with another fresh 4"-5" of snow on the ground. Its March! This needs to stop!
  5. Corrected pic.
  6. I just got my AS4000 back from Tony at Mask-it. another great matte black finish. I need some tan mask pads now to make it look totally awesome. I wished All Star made their LUC's in tan
  7. Start monitoring your temp as well. If you start to develop an infection you should get a rise in body temp. The only thing I might add is pouring hydrogen peroxide on it to aid in killing possible infection. If you have any kind of electric moustache trimmer, use it to shave down your leg hair all around the cut. They can get inside your wound and cause infection.
  8. Since Majestic is so huge in the uniform business, why would they stop making and just give up the umpire jacket market at all levels to Smitty, Hoings, and others? Or is there an MLB umpire jacket style change coming that we don't know about?
  9. Why did Majestic stop making this design of the umpire jacket?
  10. Until someone takes a foul ...direct shot to the collar bone ........ no hard plates there would bother me. BUT .....I know , and MUST ADMIT there are PLENTY who love the thing! I just can't .... but that's me From a design standpoint it is truely "unequal", pardon the pun, in the sense of its adjustability to fit multiple shoulder widths and multiple lengths. Truely unique cp. But like you said @Thunderheads, you need to take "that shot" to see how protective it is. Yes sir. Thanks for taking what I said the right way I'm not slamming it, ...I just personally don't trust it .... but like I said, there's a bunch of members here who love it..... I don't own one either, but the design of it is intriguing to me, but the cost keeps you from just buying it to try it. I have a tall upper body for a 5'-10" guy. After getting a few lower ribs cracked last fall, I have been looking for a longer cp.

  12. If I wanted to look like a NASCAR driver or crew member, I would go to North Carolina and apply to NASCAR.
  13. I do agree you can't put a price on cool but I have to say there is quite a difference in the Diamond and the Nike. The Diamond feels cramped as far as visability goes when compared to other masks as well as it being a concusion magnet. I agree with platejob29 about the vision. I recently picked up a Nike NRS and the vision is great. It has a 2" eye opening and with my All Star 4000 being about the same at 1 7/8" opening, I don't have a significant change or loss in vision, weight, when I swap masks.
  14. I'm right above you in Michigan .... we got 16" Super Bowl night, but just getting through two waves of deep freeze .... my car read -15 at one point this morning! Down here everything starts as freezing rain and ice with a heavy wet snow on top most of the time. I don't mind the cold and some snow, but by this time of the year I am ready for spring.
  15. Just left my house going to work this morning. Almost an inch of ice with 6" of snow on top, all frozen together. 2" of snow for tomorrow plus another layer of ice tomorrow night. Mother nature saved our winter for this week. Thunderheads you NE guys can have all this mess! NAshville not as much north of Nashville got 6" to 10" depending on where you are.
  16. Glad you got your game in. I'm still looking for the first one to knock the rust off. All schools and activities closed all week this week. 1/2" of ice with 4" to 8" of snow on top of it depending on where you are. Maybe next week!
  17. Congratulations!!!
  18. I just purchased a set of the memory foam pads for a new mask I aquired. I will give them a go this year and see how they do. My favorite has been the All Star LUC's. TW makes the only tan pads with the fabric cover instead of leather. It would be great if All Star made their awesome LUC's in a tan fabric for umpires.
  19. I have been to Trussville, nice area outside of Birmingham! I was supposed to have two scrimmage games this week, but our winter is hitting all at once. Snowing in Nashville now, may get 5"-6" today. We shall see!

    Neat!

@mjr_2013 congrats on the interview and the writeup. Any kind of write up or official action towards this problem is a good thing. Hopefully the columnist will use a lot of your info. We all need to take a copy of this article to our league officials and use it as a teaching tool. This is a "COOL" thing. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Congrats on the purchase TC. I hope the Unequal serves you well. Please report back when you get a chance to put it to use.
  22. I will say this as a current Douglas owner, when I ordered mine from Douglas Jeff Cook said he could attach the shoulder piece tight to to the body of the cp to eliminate the gap. I have received several shots there this past season with no problems. This is simply my own opinion based on how I ordered my Douglas CP.
  23. I apologize if this has been discussed already, but with the UE CP being the MOST expensive CP on the market, how do you keep it clean and what is the life expectancy of the foam surrounding the kevlar? I'm not knocking the protective value of it, but with most other CP's, AS, Wilson, Douglas, V-Pro, you can replace worn out padding or send it to TW for a retro fit. Does UE have a way of refurbishing the padding?
  24. Is the add correct? Was the Riddell made in a 20"? If so, there is too many folks that can wear that CP.
  25. Since we are discussing Majestic unis, do any of you MLB insiders know what the new umpire jacket style is and if Majestic will be making it?
