I usually have everything on when I leave my house. Several fields have gutted some old bathrooms and made them into umpire changing rooms. If nothing is available, I usually try to find a parking space by some trees so I can limit the exposure even if its just a shirt tuck after putting on the cp. I have heard that one school I work at has added a brand new large consession stand to handle multiple field games and that they added a huge 2nd story changing room for umpires and referees, complete with hvac. Looking forward to that one.

To begin with it was MS players in an indepedent league. The kid was a RHP was sliding his attached foot (right foot) down the pitchers plate toward first, when he turned to first he moved it up on top of the pitchers plate. So by rule he never clearly detached his foot from the pitcher's plate. @maven, yes the HC did ask me what he did on the first call and I spoke with him very briefly to explain. Second time HC new what was wrong, third time was late in the game and he pulled the pitcher. I had a HS FPSB working as BU that night, I had to catch it all from behind the plate.

I balked a middle school pitcher 3 times in a game for this same thing this past fall. His foot was in typical position on the front of the pitching plate. When he was making his move to first he would slide the attached foot down the pitching plate (towards first), and then detach his foot from the mound. He was turning around to first during this movement.

@Thunderheads, thank you for the info to the question by VAUmp. The mask was powder coated by Tony at Mask-it. The coating job is fantastic. This is a great mask with great vision. The LUC pads were purchased new last year along with the harness. I have three very good masks and I am just looking to reduce the numbers by one. I have owned two pair of smitty pants in charcoal, and three Smitty shirts for three years now, and the pants and shirts look just as good as the day I bought them. let me also add that in Tennessee for the majority of my season we are in 80-95+ degree temps with an average of 85-90% humidity. They are washed multiple times a week. I have to replace hats yearly due to fading and sweat stains, but the Smitty gear has held up very well.
