@Rulekeep, I know what its like to be in HS and think that some of this is just plain BS. But please take it seriously, its not the short term its the magnatude of long term damage to your brain that should be your focus if you get banged in the head and get another one. I watched my oldest son get two in one season while playing keeper on his HS soccer team. The first one he received would have scared you, because he was knocked unconscious for several minutes. His doctor told me one of the best things that you can do is to hydrate properly before every practice or game and continue proper hydration throughout the games. The brain is surounded by fluid inside your skull and acts as a cushion for your brain. His doctor said when your body gets dehydrated this is the first place that your body takes fluid from.So if you get hit, then the brain can hit the skull bone and cause more damage. So please listen to what they say and take the apropriate precautions so you can be ok.

I remember hearing a story about Bo Jackson was in his early years with KC against the Rangers, and KC's mgr warned Jackson that Nolan Ryans come inside on the first pitch, and for Bo not to lose his cool and charge the mound. Bo said OK I understand. The story goes that Bo walked to the plate and told Rangers catcher that if Ryan came inside on him he would charge the mound and whip his tail. The Rangers catcher called time and ran out to talk to Ryan, after a few minutes he returned and told Bo that Ryan said the first pitch will be outside at the knees.

Congrasts on the World Series appointment. I hate that you won't be in town for the series. Its a nice stadium in KC I was there about four or so years ago right after they installed the monster video board and had stadium renovation construction going on. I hate to cheer against my family but if St. louis makes it I will have to.

I can't imagine how much he paid someone with a heavy duty sewing machijne to stitch that leather to the plastic plates. Even if you cut the threads and pulled it off, you still have plates full of holes.

I just use a simple Champro black plastic four wheel indicator with optic yellow and black numbers. I can always see the numbers day or night.

So which mask is he saying is the Nike? Is it a Nike steel version, or something totally different? JaxRolo you are right about ebay not caring, I have found other items that were fake and reported them and nothing was ever done.

I'm about the same T-Rav, I work a baseball fall league DH every frday night, and I work at least one sometimes two MS football games a week, and youth football on saturday.

I bought my Douglas earler this year, luckily just before the price went up, and I really like it. Wished I had gotten the 15" instead of the 13".

@Baltimore Umpire, go to www.champrosports.com call them and see who is currently selling this CP. Champros website shows 3 different model numbers, but don't list the sizes. I would bet it comes in the same three lengths that the older model does.

Yeah it does look like they have made improvements. looks like they narrowed most of the gapsbetween the plates and moved the clips from the front to the side hidden behind the plates.

I understand, I just finished my fifth football game this week and had a DH in baseball lastnight. At gametime the temp was 85, not bad, but someone cranked on the humidity, and my arms stayed soaking wet last night. I would towel off between innings and be soaked again before the first batter was done.

I don't know why they would name it so close to their existing hard shell cp either, unless they intend on phasing the older one out. But your are correct about the close name.

Champro has come out with a second hardshell CP. The Pro-Plus Plate Armor. Similar to the Plus Pos and Champion CP's. Says that it is made from 3mm thick plastic plates. I haven't found a price listing yet, but it looks like it could be in the under $100 price range.

@ VA Ump, It was because he repeated that statement to me at least 4 times within about 2 minutes. And because I didn't really aknowledge his statement the first few times. This guy is a I want to be the center of attention kind of guy.
