  1. Our association has its last huge tournament this weekend (since it is a three day weekend). I get a nice haul of games. Then my left foot goes "I am going to give you a nice shot of pain every step you take." Grrrr, something always seems to go wrong when things are going great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. As a manager or player, I would have no problem with that pitch being calling a strike by an objective monitoring system. The reason we don't call that a strike is mostly because we don't want to be yelled at. Computers don't mind being yelled at, so if anything, I think this is a perfect example of why computers should call balls and strikes. Until bat meets computer. A former mlb umpire said it, that there can never be a machine because the players would destroy it when the call didn't go their way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. This is exactly what I told my friend right after the play happened. If it wasn't within reach it would of been OBS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It was definitely a punch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I think it could be done for regular season, the fox networks could share, csn could share, masn share, root sports share. I am sure you could find ex umps willing to talk on tv for cash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. More like they're experimenting with similar speed-up rules in the AFL. The Atlantic League doesn't own those speed-up rules. And the ALPB is applauding them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Best answer and lock thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The O's are getting by the Tiger's eh?!? Hang with starters, get to the bullpen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I'm with Rich here, only because sometimes as manager you have to "take one for the team" and get tossed as manager to prevent a player from being tossed, especially at the professional level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Alright, it is that time of year again, post your World Series predictions here. Mine is: AL Champion: O's NL Champion: Nats World Champion: O's in 7 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Where is the monkey holding his hand out to be paid gif when you need it? I now tell coaches that no money=no play. All fees paid before one pitch, right in the rules (that you probably did not read). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Just a matter of time, and probably will be your next game since you said it out loud. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. National Rugby League, playing rugby league, popular in New South Wales and Queensland. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Did the Rangers protest the loss? Maybe that statement made the Giants aware of the rule. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Voluntold? Send in the paperwork on that one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. The best way to get rid of a stupid local rule is to enforce it. Although this one, most people are ok with the out penalty because they feel it is "fair." Enforce the rule as written. Nothing is stopping you from ejecting the player if it becomes a major issue with one player. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Old Navy has their own brand of UA like shirts. Work well for much less cost (especially if you wait for a sale).
  18. USSSA was good when I was in VA. Pay was a little low, but they were matching any competition, so it isn't like you could go elsewhere. But I believe that from hearing on here, USSSA varies from org to org, some are great, some stink.
  19. Sounds like they scrapped the courtesy runner rule before it started. http://www.si.com/mlb/2014/08/05/atlantic-league-pace-of-play-mlb
  20. I will have to head up to A game (I have 3 Atlantic League teams within a couple hours driving range) and see these in action.
  21. The runner beats the throw (safe) or does not (out). That is where umpire judgment comes in on those real whackers.
  22. As much as this may suck for your association, it may be your best bet, even for a bylaw review. And I am with the many others, whatever you do, it has to be equal to everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. And Mo better = mo games This may sound Smittyish, but to continue the train of thought: Mo games = mo money (if paid)
