    Plus POS

I have ordered from +POS on 3 separate occasions and have had ZERO problems with them. Just ordered a ZRO-G mask from them about a month ago. And I received it in less than a week. I guess I am lucky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. We have the opportunity to work about 100 3 man games this season during the season. Included in that is a couple of 4 man tournament final games. Our playoff games are 3 man up to the semi finals then it is 4 man Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. So let me clarify a couple of things since @grayhawk mentioned me. I owned the Original Force 3 Chest Protector. I took a bunch of hits in it. And although I felt them, I never bruised or anything. So when the V2 came out, I wanted it. I bought it and sold the V1 to offset the price. I have had it since June. I have not really taken a shot in it until last week. I was working a D3 Winter League game. The pitcher was throwing 80 - 82 MPH. The pitcher and catcher got crossed up on a pitch. The catcher barely got his glove up so the ball barely grazed the glove. I took the shot in chest right above my breast. It knocked the wind out of me. As well it left a bruise for going on a week and a half now. And it was sore for 5 days. I get that you will feel something when you get hit on occasion. But this was a pain I have never felt before. And being that I routinely have pitchers throwing in the 90+ Range with the level of Baseball I do, I no longer feel safe using this chest protector. It seems like it would be fine for High School Level and below. But not when you climb into the College level. Atleast not for me.

    Odd Call

And he doesn't get to establish a baseline as you stated. Because he doesn't have absolute right to the baseline he established. The fielder has absolute right to field any ball and the base runner has to avoid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Odd Call

Which is good for the game. If people are trying to protect the kids, that is what matters. And it is a teaching moment for kids. Umpires are human. We all will make mistakes. Just like you might not agree on a strike or ball call. But 99% of us take this job seriously. And we are out there to do the best job we can. And we really don't care who wins. Odd Call

If R1 saw F4 and F4 was turning a play, then R1 has to avoid any contact. Just because F4 got rid of the ball right before contact doesn't mean he isn't protected anymore. That is where you have to Umpire. If R1 is doing what he is supposed to be doing then he should have already been moving out of the way of F4. Atleast that's the way I understand your post. And if he had been moving out of the way then there wouldn't have been any contact. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Combo pants

I think my first 2 seasons of High School I wore Combo pants. Now I have at least 3 base and 3 plate pants for every season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. Just for the record, Grayhawk and I have worked a game together now. Actually we have worked a few games together now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. High School level and College all pay less during the summer. Usually we make between $80-$90 for College during the summer and $60-$70 for High School. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Like Grayhawk, Our Membership fee is $135. That includes NASO membership. We pay our Assignor $3/game. It usually works out to $60 or so a season. We make(this season) $76/game. So for approximately 3 game fees, we have our membership and assigning fees paid and Insurance for the year. The Assignor job in our Association is no picnic. I think we are they largest unit in the CIF Southern Section. We have 220+ members every year. Don't ever question what the Assignor charges. He should always be compensated. I assign off season Baseball games for the local High Schools as well as Assigning for the local Pony League. It is a complete pain and, sometimes, the little bit of money I charge to assign the games is not worth the aggravation. The problem I have is most of the guys I have working games for me are my friends. And feel guilty charging them more than I do. So I just keep the rates the same.
  18. Rolo is throwing Hay Makers at this point. He started off with Jabs, Now he has just decided to abandon that plan, and just go for the Jugular.
  19. the more and more I read these threads, the more I realize how bitter some Umpires are towards the "Spoiled, rotten, self entitled kids". If you guys don't like the children, then why do you Umpire the games? In the last year, I think I might have had 4 or 5 kids that I felt were not good kids. But it doesn't change my feeling toward the game or the profession of Umpiring. Just me opinion. As for the Ejection, The umpire had his reason. I will never question an umpire for his right to Eject a player. Sounds like it is a Good Ejection.
  20. Javier. I doubt he would be flinching.
  21. A buddy of mine worked last Tuesday. Said he got smoked a few times. He said the Pitchers were a lot better than the Catchers plus they don't know each other so easy to get crossed up.
  22. Do not watch the LLWS games at all and try an justify where those guys stand or what their Strike Zone is. I have seen a few very god umpires work these games, but for the most part, it is more of an award for donating so much time to LL Games over the years. Give the gentlemen a lot of credit for donating their time. And for the most part, they do an ok job. But you can not compare them to the information you get on this site. The people on here have umpired some of the best baseball this nation has to offer. They are very knowledgeable and can flat out Umpire.
  23. Awesome news. Keep Kickin Cancers ARSE!!!
  24. I have been doing the OCCL for the last 2 summers. Some decent College kids in the league. Each team has 2-3 D1 kids and the rest of the roster is made up of D2, D3 and JC kids.
  25. I take them for in Season games. Summer and Winter Ball NOPE.
