  2. @JaxRolo the best advice I can give you is just don't wear it, If you don't like it. I get what you are saying. But the pressure I feel when I get hit, I am willing to accept. If you aren't, then stick to the Hard Shells. Games Worked Too Damn Many

  6. After reading the original post, I was leaning toward having a drink. Aging_arbiter pushed me over the limit. And Jocko's post made me finish the whole bottle Games Worked Too Damn Many
  7. Had 2 games yesterday. I was on the dish for game 1.First one went 7 innings 1 hour 35 minutes. Home team hits a Grand Slam in bottom of the 6 and it holds up for a 4-2 win. Next game, I am on the bases and we go 7 innings in 1 hour 24 minutes. Home team wins 1-0. Games Worked Too Damn Many
  8. I am sure that if it was judged that his strike zone was inconsistent, the powers that be would handle it. Games Worked Too Damn Many

    Count the run???

Guys Maven was not talking about the runner at 3rd leaving early. Reread what he said. It doesn't matter where R2 is put out. But if they try to appeal R2 for leaving early, even though he was put out at 3rd, you deny the appeal because there is no advantage. Now take the same play except there are 2 outs and the ball drops in and the BR missed 1st base. They get the out at 3rd. And then they appeal that the BR missed 1st. What would you have? I think that is what Maven was talking about. Games Worked Too Damn Many
  10. What are we ruling on? If you are asking if you should grant a HBP because it hits the clothing? Absolutely. But there are more factors that go into a HBP than if it hits the clothing. Games Worked Too Damn Many
  11. After reading every post in this thread, Woodie has driven me to need a drink. Jack and Coke, here I come. Games Worked Too Damn Many

  13. Well now that is one way to burn the place down. Blueump I do have a question for you. At what point during the S#/T Show did you make it over to the Snack Bar and get some popcorn and a Soda? This definitely would have been worth the price of admission. Games Worked Too Damn Many

  15. Good so far. I'd be seriously considering ejection of the HC or any of the offenders here. You already dealt with the situation once. No. You either toss him or you pick the most likely offender. Doing it this way makes you look passive-aggressive. If you're going to play this game, this is what you reap. At this point, you could have still taken the bull by the horns and asked which one it was, then ejected him yourself. Congrats. Now you basically baited the team into another ejection. The first one wasn't good enough? I won't say this often...you had it coming. Matt you nailed that. Well played Games worked 48
  16. Why post the rule? Everyone on this site knows it. The question is did the runner jump over the outstretched arms or over the fielder. How is that inexplicable? The catchers body is perpendicular to the batters box line and centered on the plate as the runner approaches. After @mavins screen grab the catcher is turning to the right and trying to tag the runner who is jumping over his arms. That being said, until I'm in 3BX in that sit it could go either way in FED. And, I suspect, if this was Utrip, they don't address jumping over an arm and this should have been called You sir are INDEED John Gray. I would suggest not doing FB. I don't do it. It appears, as far as BB rules/umpiring subjects go, that you will be arguing with fools. Aside from @JaxRolo's site which I suspect will go downhill also. I am not John Gray. He might be a fool or not. I'm not a fool but I have been wrong. Jimurray, I like you. You always post interesting remarks. But today you have John Gray characteristics. You might or might not be John Gray, but if it looks like poop and smells like poop it might just be poop. I'm just sayin. Games worked 48
  17. My pride won't let me leave a field injured. It's the way I played the game and the way I umpire too. I don't flinch when I get hit. I don't show pain ever and I am sure not leaving a field after I get hit by a baseball. Unless, of course, I am knocked out cold. It might be dumb of me to do, but my pride won't allow it any other way. Games worked 48

  25. I point and look, but I try to have good timing so that if the ball is on the ground, I don't look, just point or I don't call it a strike. Games worked 42
