Me too Dave ... Palm Springs area I'm hoping! Palms Springs, Golf Courses and Steak Houses. Best place to retire.

Put all your gear in it then wrap it up! Where do you come up with this stuff. Absolutely hilarious

My new bag showed up yesterday. Now I have to wait until Christmas to open it. I am hoping to put all of my gear and clothes in it. Just so I don't have to hang my clothes any more. We will see. As far as wrinkles go, I have seen more D1 umpires who wear uniforms out to the field that I would never consider wearing. But then again maybe they have made it where they want to. I am still climbing the ladder.

So if a ball is hit to RF and PU mistakingly says, "I've got the ball" instead of "I'm on the line" but PU is still where he's supposed to be, doing what he's supposed be doing, do we have an issue? Is BU going to be that dense where b/c he didn't hear "I'm on the line" he's not going to rotate to 3B for a potential play on a runner or batter/runner? You want to know what's worse, I don't even know what I say. It's either I'm on the line or I got the ball. But I can't tell you for sure. I am working a DH on Saturday. Maybe it will happen and I will have to make a call. If it does and I do then I will tell you guys what I say. I might say both. No clue. It just seems like("I'm on the line") should only be communicated when the ball it is a trouble ball down the RF line. In reality, that's the only time the rotation changes. If it's a trouble ball down the LF line, PU has fair/foul, catch/no catch, plus the rotation up to third base. He's heading that way anyway. Why say anything on PU calls down the LF line? PU is heading that way anyway...similar to the "I've got third if he comes" There probably is more to it, so chime in as to why PU should communicate "I've got the ball" down he LF line, other than "that's what's taught at umpire school" or "that's what's in the red book." There probably are other reasons that I'm not thinking of so help me understand. Thanks! Well for me. My pregame to the base umpire is, when you are in B or C you have all fly balls unless I call you off. Now this is if it's a veteran guy and I can trust him. If it's a rookie Varsity umpire it's a different conversation. But for that purpose I always tell him when I have the ball. And the more I think about it I am sure I distinguish between the 2. For the purpose of knowing what we are doing. And we don't screw up.

That's how I would see it. Followed, surely, by sending a coach to the parking lot.

maven how much did you pay this guy?

Tell us how you really feel. Don't sugar coat it for us.

Cooper was asking, "what could he have done differently" or something like that. Could we have just killed the ball once you see it off the bat and foul, vs having to talk it over? U1 couldn't tell if it was fair or foul. And I think he was the only 1 close enough who saw it off the bat. U3 was probably blocked by the batter. Not sure about u2.

That is my favorite quote now. I am going to use it all the time.

Now a decision to make. I just picked up a DH next Saturday for the JC Assignor's Xmas tournament. I am debating whether to shave the beard. Probably should just in case he drops by.

Easier yet. Thank you @UADirOps

Well my Christmas wish might come through. SWMBO asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told her an equipment bag. She said tell me which one you want and we will see. So I have limited it down to 2 bags. Wich of these 2 bags would you go with? I am leaning toward the Force 3, because I have their shins and CP and I love them so it makes sense. Can anyone who owns either or both and has any information to compare the 2 would be a great big help. Thank you...

I order a mask from them in October. They sent it out and I received it from them in 2 days. No issues.
