Anyway

Anyone have or use forearm protection that they would recommend that they know is available.  I took two shots to the right arm in back to back nights Odd thing being it was the arm that was supposed to be protected by the catcher ( right behind them)  just poor catchers who were too small.

anyway any help would be appreciated I am thinking of going to Dicks and looking at shin guards

Edit to add photo

also why do they always seem so show what looks like 3 sets of stitching when balls have 2 rows?

I've got nothing for you, but, some tinkerers and mad men might have concocted forearm protection from cannibalizing old shin guards, shoulder plates or garbage cans hooked with velcro or chicago screws and padded with seat foam from a '89 Toyota... I wouldn't be surprised....  😁

I got hurt earlier this year by a catcher-in-name-only in about that same spot.

I got some of these at my local Academy Sports. They're made for the elbow, but can easily be slid down to protect the forearm.

I have had a similar injury, and this is what i have come up with. After getting hit in the forearm with an inside fastball fouled off right into my forearm in a varsity game, I needed to come u with something. Went to Dicks and this is what I use.

I just got these forearm pads from Dicks. Not sure if you can still get this style, but get something that has padding. I use this for regular games.

Yea I developed 2 inch round hematoma that raised up about 3/4 of an inch and screamed in pain.  I actually whimped out and asked ice bag and layed the icepack on it for about 2 min before resuming the game. ( not proud of that)

I have to post picture separately.

Anyway, because of the injury, I wanted something harder to protect my arm. So I got these soccer shin guards, youth size, you can slip them under the forearm pads for more protection.

I saw another ump at a tourney that used a small-childs shin-guard for soccer to cover his wrist.  I wonder how effective that'll be!

EDIT: Woops,  JonnyCat beat me to it:D

Sounds familiar. For the first time ever with a baseball injury, I actually went to the doctor the next day to have them check it out. He sent me for x-rays, but it ended up as just a bad bruise.

Anyway, give the McDavid's a shot. And a healthy dose of aspirin/acetaminophen/ibuprofin . (And maybe a bit of C2H5OH at the end of the night. ;))

Oh I went the ice and ibuprofen route with plenty of water.

Trust me the whisky bottle nearly came down off the top of the fridge but I been trying hard to stay hydrated and that would have killed it all and I got 6 games from Mon to Sat this week  I need to not do that to myself LOL

Its too bad that did not silde in OVER the padding

would be a bit more protective imho

The white shin guard goes under the forearm pad. It provides a great deal of protection, and stays in place. You have the soft padding of the forearm guard, then the protection of the hard plastic shin guards. The shin guards also have a layer of foam on the inside for even more protection. It works great and isn't bulky at all.

Ump-attire sells arm guards.

Those are smaller, and I believe only protect the wrists.

I think these wrist guards work better.

I would think the soccer shin guard with a basketball players arm sleeve would be a nice combo while you healed.

Pretty sure I wouldn't argue balls and strikes with her....

One of them would have to be the BU.  Unlike ballbags or indicators, either one could wear their forearm guards out there. Noooooooo problem.

"I'm sorry. There's a baseball game going on here? I hadn't noticed."
