Doubtful that you will see many (if any) testimonials anytime soon.   I just downloaded it and it said it had been downloaded over 100 times.   Well, you have to start somewhere.

@Aging_Arbiter that was one of my biggest questions.

 

I haven’t downloaded it, but from the screen shots and stuff on their website, it doesn’t look as if it actually contains the rule books or even the language from the books — just scenarios with citations of the rule numbers.  Handy, but I like to have the source.

From what I understand, they just take the rule book and put it in every day, easier understood, language.    Follows same order as the rule book so you can know what rule they're on easily.  I downloaded it too, but haven't gone deep yet.

@BRBW -- I heard you on Gerry and Gil's podcast -- sounded good, my man!

You mentioned "youth" games a number of times.  My question is what rule set(s) are you using for "youth"?  There are lots  of youth rule sets!

I'd love to hear more about your journey and the creation process!

I heard about the app via the podcast. I downloaded the app and it appears to be very useful. I hope some coaches look at it.

LRZ, while an endorsement from Mr. Childress would be exceptional, we are not expecting one anytime soon. We are going to have to settle with endorsements from Gerry Davis and Billy Haze. The content in our Baseball Rules in Black and White App uses none of NFHS, NCAA, MLB"s intellectual property, and we have letter's from their lawyers stating so. Our rule language, formatting of rule information, nine rule sets and videos are unique and exclusive to Baseball Rules in Black and White. We have spent over six years writing and publishing five editions of NFHS and NCAA Baseball Rules in Black and White books. Beginning in the summer of 2019 we began our app project, then launching it in 2020. We've worked closely with rule interpreters from MLB to LL in order to maintain the highest level of accuracy. Does BRBW explain in plain language that there’s no such thing as a “fielder’s balk”, that a BR cannot be called Out while on a Home Run trot for high-fiving his coach, and that a BR cannot be called Out for a flung bat?... you know, because of “safety”? 

Got those myths covered? 

Oh, and how about that you cannot have a HBT coming out of a Dead Ball? 

Dispelling those myths would greatly improve the state of umpiring nationwide. Good first step.
