I don't plan on spending a lot of money on MLB games. I can see all 162 yankee games on TV. I will probably go to the Lakewood Blue Claws (Philly A) a couple of times. The problem is I don't watch the games anymore...I watch the umpires.:home:

6 MiLB-Lexington Legends (SAL-Class A). All of them for free, as a guest of my MiLB umpiring friends. If you count the beers, sodas and wings I bought at Buffalo Wild Wings and the BBQ feast I cooked one Sunday (Brisket, burnt ends, pork ribs, Pulled Pork, Chopped carolina vinegar style Q, smoked wings, bbq beans, mac and cheese, banana pudding and make you an instant diabetic iced tea) I probably spent about $500 for those 6 games. But, I got to rub up about 30 dozen baseballs in the locker room, too.

I did not waste any of my money or time watching any MLB in person because I did not go anywhere other than some local ballfields to work games.

I am in a group of friends who share a Pittburgh Pirate season ticket plan.......I get 20 tickets spread out over the season .....averages about 3-4 games a month....my son and his friends take a good bunch of those, so I usually get about 6 MLB games in.....I also have a Frontier league team in my area and I catch 3-4 games with them as well...

So, somebody does actually go to see the Pirates??? :home:

So, somebody does actually go to see the Pirates??? :home:

there are us diehards........and enough of the bobblehead/fireworksnight/giveaway fans to keep the pirates in the black....

For years when the Pirates have been considerably terrible....I have gone to see the other team.....like last summer when I went to the game to see the Yankees in interleague play......the Pirates just happended to be the team playing the Yankees that night.......

I mentioned something to the DW about going to Atlanta when the Red Sox:clap: are in June 26 - 28 so we'll see.

Otherwise, I'll attend my South Atlantic League Asheville Tourists games (A - Rockies) when I can squeeze them in. Same league as Lakewood and Lexington:wave:

But to actually answer the OP question, you ALWAYS hope you can attend more this year than last!

don't go to any pro games, don't enjoy them now that i'm umpiring, and the DW doesn't like sports. if i were to attend it would be the tulsa drillers (aa-rockies) or the nw arkansas naturals. may have to talk her into letting me take the baby girl, she's my little sports nut.

Since I live in Boise, it's tough to get to MLB games, but I will be going back home to California next month, and have tickets to the Giants-Nats game at AT&T park. Hopefully, the baseball gods will bless me with Tim Lincecum starting for the Giants.

As far as MiLB goes, we have the Boise Hawks. They are a short season A ball (Northwest League) affiliate if the Cubs, so I definitely plan to see more of their games this year.

Interesting note on the Hawks stadium. They made a media splash the other day by signing a deal with Sara Lee (they own Ballpark Franks) so the stadium here is being renamed Ballpark Ballpark. It sounds pretty silly at first, but after you think about it and say it several times, it actually rolls off the tongue pretty well. I guess if Pizza! Pizza! worked for Little Caesars, then Ballpark Ballpark could work for the Hawks. Time will tell, I suppose.

I have the SAL Delmarva Shorebirds( A affiliate of Orioles) locally. The other choices I have are 2 to 3 hours drive. They are all Oriole affiliates except Wilmington, they are tied to the Royals.

Norfolk Tides AAA International League

Bowie Baysox AA Eastern League

Wilmington Blue Rocks Long A Carolina League

I accidentally clicked none, but I'm hoping to get to at least one Wichita Wranglers game. It takes about 6-7 hours to get to an MLB park for me; Either Rangers or Royals. Denvers a lil farther for the Rockies.

I have the Orioles @ 2 hrs, Nationals @ 2:40 and Phillies @ 2:40. I have tickets for the Orioles for the second day of the season.

I'll go to a few AAA Portland Beavers (Padres) games, the field is right in town. I am planning on at least one trip to Safeco for the Mariners (2:40ish), I haven't been there for a few years. Safeco is the only new stadium that I have been to and it is beutiful.

Last year I went back to NY where I grew up and went to a Mets game, a LI Ducks game (Independant Atlantic League), a Brooklyn Cyclones game (A Mets) and a Yankee game (first/last time at the stadium) Four consecutive days. Awsome. You can view pics of that trip here:

Your comment makes me appreciate how close I am to my NY Mets...about 50 miles away, visited Wichita way bake in 1979 to visit Cessna...as a New Yorker it was my first visit to the west...at the time, I could not believe how flat it was :-)

I'm from Northport. Do you do HS games on the Island then?

I'll probably hit a half-dozen Kernels games (A affiliate of the Angels - Nick Adenhart pitched here!) this year, and I hope to get to Des Moines to see the Iowa Cubs. Last year I only made it to two MLB games, and one of those was a freebie that IBM provided when my wife spoke at one of their conferences. You wouldn't believe the IBM box in St. Louis!

I'm hoping to make it to the Cubbies and Twins this year, and I may hit the Royals when I'm in KC.

My real dream, though, is to spend a week in Omaha for the CWS. My Dad used to buy the ticket packs and we'd go to 15 games in a week. Baseball overload? No Such Thing!

I went to five different MLB parks in six days last weeks. So I'm already over my last years total. Yankees, Mets, Philly's, Nats and O's.

p.s. Joe West is just awful at first base.

I'm heading to a PawSox game this saturday. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm right be hind home plate in the second row! :D

I attended a Dodger/Giants game for my the big 3-0 earlier this month. That makes a tie for the number of baseball games Ive attended.

Also planning on making it to an Angel game and a GBL (Golden Baseball League independent minor league) or two here in Long Beach before I leave. Then I really want to attend a Portland Beavers game when I get up there.

Heck, with any luck I might be able to attend a Salem/Keizer Giants game or a Portland Beavers game before the season is over. Hey a man can dream right?
