I'm happy for them and their fans but it's a weird feeling knowing that the drought is over. Now what?

I liked having another fan base that understood what it was like to always be bad. The franchise that coined "there's always next year" doesn't have to say that anymore.

As a big Red Sox fan I definitely know how it feels for Cubs fans to have finally won.

I wonder if goats are once again allowed in Chicago city limits?

Oh! Has anyone seen Steve Bartman?

As a Cardinals fan I won't have to hear the Cubs fans say, "Wait til next year".  So tired of hearing that every year.  Hopefully in 3024 they'll be able to win another one.

Will we still have baseball in a thousand years though?

I've been a Cubs fan since I was 5. I'm 40 now. So, I waited my whole life for last night. It was amazing.

Can confirm, there is crying in baseball.

A host for a radio show I listen to has a daughter that moved to Chicago last year. He relayed is story to the audience yesterday during the show:

She was able to get a couple days off from work as a hostess as some high end sushi restaurant for the games in Chicago to hang outside the stadium. Then was off on Wednesday to watch Game 7. She tries to ask for Friday off for the parade (which, according to the host will travel right past her apartment.) They tell her no. She tells them she will quit if they don't let her. They say no.

Let's just say she will be watching the parade from her apartment window today. And will be starting her job search on Monday. Lol

Alas, it was game 161.

I swear, I don't think I would've cried over a loss. I did in 84, 89, 03. 07, I was moving and threw a bunch of stuff in the dumpster out of anger at the game.

This year is just so different, because this team's core is just so amazing. I think there's a few legit HOF'ers:

Lester, Bryant, Russell (2nd 2 are so young, but they're just so talented)

Rizzo may not put up the #s, there's just so many 1B out there.

And there's so much room to go, that a loss wasn't the end. "Wait till next year" meant something, whereas before, it was hollow.

But damn, I'm still tearing up.
