Last night's partner told me he had a drone flying over the field during his game (reachable with a flyball). If a batted ball hit an unauthorized drone, how would you rule if the can of corn flyball dropped in fair territory uncaught ?

Treat as spectator INT. Kill it and award bases and outs based on what would have happened.

A few weeks ago I had a HS baseball game and noticed that at the neighboring SB field there was a drone flying over. When I was looking at it the operator seemed to be keeping it out of live bell territory. 

I was later told it was a dad creating a video to submit to colleges.

As an umpire it wouldn't bother me unless it went over live ball territory. If that were to occur I'd have the home coach fix the problem.

In my state, the current policy is: in regular season games, the home school may have and enforce its own policy regarding drones. At state tournament games, drones are not permitted, and the contest will be suspended until the drone is removed.

Drones are specifically outlawed in all NJ HS athletic contests. If one is spotted, the contest is immediately stopped until the offending IFO has been landed.

had one flying over me at a JV game at trenton central earlier this year. never thought id have to worry about it when we discussed it in the preseason

you do not wanna get lost going to and from trenton central (learned this the hard way)....side note, there isn't even a school anymore cause the building was condemned...lotta issues in that city

Last night a kid shows me a batting helmet he fitted with a GoPro camera. He asks me if he can wear it while batting. I tell him no way are you wearing that thing in a game. If it gets hit by the ball and flys off, I am not getting sued over it.

Apparently, that possibility never entered his mind.
