Anybody have access to the 2016 NCAA Umpire Clinic Videos?

Umpire-Empire locks topics which have not been active in the last year. The thread you are viewing hasn't been active in 3806 days so you will not be able to post. We do recommend you starting a new topic to find out what's new in the world of umpiring.

I know they always release them on the Arbiter Central Hub after the last meeting occurs, but they sometimes pop-up elsewhere on-line before then. Heard they showed some good stuff in Nashville last weekend.

Got to see them a week early at our local general meeting. I can tell you, there is a lot of playes at the plate. At least the ones we saw.

Yeah, I bought the videos a couple of years ago when the meeting was in Dallas. I only call up to DII so I don't have to go to the meeting. I try to go when it is close. Would just love to see them, but I can wait a couple more weeks. I have head the gist...just wanted to see for myself.

NCAA meetings not mandatory if you call D2 ball or lower?

Mine likes attendance, but not all can go. I went to a couple of his clinics this year and we have to participate in a weekly conference call starting around Thanksgiving till the end of the season.

I hope to attend one next season.

Are you part of Triple Play Umpires?

I got invited to their facebook group too. Our local college group doesn't require attendance at an NCAA meeting either for the lower level guys.

Their justification is the cost is unreasonable for guys calling D3, JUCO, etc.

The cost is always unreasonable for some -- especially those who give up games in other sports to attend.  And, imo, most of the time they cram about 30 minutes worth of information into an 8 hour day.

They should give credit for just watching the videos - -they know how to track that on-line -- that's 95% of the value of the clinic.

I think it's only a requirement for the D1 guys and every-other-year for the post season below D1.

That being said, I don't really know.  I do what my boss tells me to do.  I have gone every-other-year for the last couple of rotations because I like hearing things first hand vs through the grape vine.

Ours requies it for post season at all levels. I don't plan on attending again until it is in my area. Which will probably be the next couple years.

BT it won't be next year,  its coming back to Anaheim in 2017.  The cycle has been norcal, socal, az and it seems that they are happy with that.  Sorry the Portland experiment didin't work out for you boys.  As for on the west coast its required for all D1 and only the Pac12 pays for their rooms.  Everyone else you're on your own to make it to the clinic.  However, its a tax right off.

I have never had my room paid for.

If you're talking about for the meeting, no. As for games, it depends on the conference.

Big 12 umpires get their rooms paid for by the conference at the Chicago meeting. Everyone else is on their own.
