Asking for Product Reviews Help

Several of you have noticed and mentioned that we are now carrying +POS, Force3 and other brands of new umpire gear (e.g. Douglas, Schutt). I just noticed that our reviews for many of these new products are lacking and thought I would ask you, the experts, to help us and our customers out. You can be the first to review any of these products below.

To submit a review, simply click find the product you want to review, scroll down past the photos and description and look on the right for the link to "Submit a Review". You can use your account (or create one).

 

We've been offering an incentive as well with entering each review into a drawing for gift certificates each month. Thanks ahead of time for your time and help.

Would it not be better to have all those masks on one page and use something like your size drop-down field for colour? Seems to make more sense as that way all the reviews for a product, regardless of colour, are on one page.

The goal is to help the customer. So if an even-handed review helps someone considering an option, your review is always welcome. (We might put you on our double-secret probation list but that's about the worst that would happen to you.)

I'd really like to see some reviews on the Schutt XV CP, might buy one this year. I try to review most of the products I buy on ump-attire; I find them to be a really nice resource and like to return the favor.

Maybe it's intentional, but after I click on "Baseball" and scroll down to the brands offered, I don't see Douglas, which to my knowledge are your highest-end products (CP and Shins)

 

If I didn't know that you sold Douglas and I don't see it on the front baseball page, I might start looking elsewhere.  I have to click on "Shop all Brands" to see that you carry Douglas.

So far so good. The overwhelming majority of our suppliers have all been very easy to work with.

That's a really good point. The logos populate that area automatically based on which brand has the most number of products in our selection.

You are right. Only by going to shop all brands (or seeing something by drilling down into a category such as chest protectors) will you see Schutt, Force3 or Douglas. Hmmm. We might need to rethink that as we certainly want to emphasize the new brands. You have certainly giving me some food for thought.

I'll echo @Tksjewelry's suggestion, as a regular Pinterest pinner. (Hey! I'm a product designer and fabricator! I have to reference source photos somewhere!... Quit looking at me like that!). I understand the concern, though... all those product photos you originally or monetarily produce, and some garage outfitter snipes them to use on his eBay listing. Total bad form.

 

I will be purchasing a Schutt XV very very soon, cashing in my UA Coupon, and submitting a Product Review in short order. I just gotta scratch together some funding, given that we still have snow on the ground up here in Wisconsin and are frantically and miserably jealous of you southerners* calling ballgames already.

I'd like to see if @Matthew Turner can knock out a product review, seeing that he managed to snatch one up before me. Oh come on, like you have other things to do while the snow melts, Matt!

Also, to @johnnyg08's point, you could introduce a "randomizer" that posts the logos in a random fashion on each page reload. Or, you could take Smitty and/or Champro down in favor of Douglas or another premium brand. Everybody carries Smitty.

Right...I don't see Smitty as the big differentiator.  Because as you said, everybody carries Smitty
