Why not register for this clinic? Some pro instructors along with others. Should be a fun day.

Nothing going on around here in January, but I did register for this

Although it isn't shown on the website yet, I have been informed that Hunter Wendelstedt is scheduled to be there as well.  That makes 4 MLB guys (Rob Drake, Lance Barrett, Joe West & Hunter) along with the other instructors listed.  I went the first year and it was well worth the money.  All the instructors were very down to earth and approachable.  If you can make it for the Friday night Ice Breaker as well then even better. That Friday night I had the chance to talk with Lance Barrett for probably 30-45 minutes the first year.  The memorabilia auction is pretty good too.  The MLB guys bring stuff to auction off, and I am told that Hunter will be bringing some World Series items to auction off as well.

I couldn't make it last year, but am hoping to this year if my schedule permits.

Lets see. I have 5 games scheduled as of now. I have a 2 High School meeting, 1 Board Meeting and there are 2 High School Clinics in January. I probably won't attend any of the clinics. The 3 man clinic I will attend is the first week of February.

The local HS here begins their open gyms and lets us come down to call pitches in the hitting tunnels.  Great way to shake off the rust.

Summer association has an annual clinic in February.  So looking forward for it all to get going.

@clawdad Have you decided if you can make it? I'm set to arrive Friday night for the icebreaker. Looking forward to it.

Unfortunately I can't make it- family and work commitments don't jive right now. I was looking forward to meeting someone from U-E in person.

I don't think anyone from our chapter is attending this year, which is too bad. I am going to try to see if our board would consider sending a couple on "scholarship" next year.  We don't have a ton of $$, so we would need to do some fundraising.

I'm sure you will have a great time. I hope you will give us a rundown of it when you get back.

Just got back from the clinic. It was a blast. Lance Barrett, Hunter, and Rob Drake were there along with Dave Soucy and a few more AAA guys. All very approachable, and friendly. It was great getting critiqued by pro guys on drills around 1st base and in the cages. The Icebreaker on Friday night was a lot of fun. Got to talk to all the guys. Chewed the fat with Dave Soucy for an hour or so. So much info to take in if you listen. Can't think of a better way to spend a 5 degree Saturday afternoon. The auction after the clinic featured some fantastic items. the highlights being a Lance Barrett plate coat, a 2015 World Series  Wendelstedt therma base jacket, and a 2014 world series baseball signed by all six crew members. I'll be looking to head back next winter.
