Got to try my Zigs on last night when I got home.  They are nice.  Really light just like when I tried them on in Chicago.  I do notice that they seem a little more snug than the old Reebok plate shoes.  Some people went up a half size, but I wear a 13 so I wasn't going to a 14.  That's like a water ski.

They might have had older versions of the Nike Airmax. I ordered the 2013 model. I know it's not leather, but I was able to get it all black except for the swoosh is grey.

I figure it shouldn't be too much trouble to wipe down or clean, but only time will tell. They have a lot of mesh on them but they will breathe well.

I am a little worried how they will look on the field, but i figure most people aren't paying attention to my shoes if they are black. I am more concerned about being able to walk after the game :P

Hopefully the wide fit will work good for me. I will get them in about a month.

I got the Black/White Zigs for the plate. I cant do low tops for some reason. I must say they are considerably lower than any other "mid" shoe Ive had.  Regarding the WHITE, I took a Sharpie Paint marker to the toe plate and the back of the shoe.  In doing so, I believe they are now considerably better looking.

Agreed. I would like to see pictures as well. I will be trying on the Zigs when Honigs comes to one of our meetings (hopefully) and if they look good I might do the same thing.

I used black fingernail polish on the white of my NB plate & Reebok plate shoes just last week, but I've also has success with black airplane model paint.

I have heard that the D width might actually run more like a 2E width. Hoping to confirm this quickly. Can anyone that has one of these confirm this or not?

Nope. I normally wear a EE. They are very snug. I've been wearing them around the house to try to stretch them out a little. Did you go up a size or two? If so how much?Depending on the shoe 10 1/2 or 11.  I went up to an 11 1/2.  Maybe could have done a 12, but felt I would have been swimming length wise.  As I've worn them around the house they've loosened up a little bit.  I may just get some longer shoe laces and lace them loosely.  Also, above..I'm assuming he's talking about base shoes...although rumor has it Nike is coming out with a plate shoe this year.I have a friend that's a Nike rep. He's hush-hush about the plate shoe. You got the straight skinny?

Chris, Did you bring it in somewhere to get done or did you do it yourself? What did you do with the REEBOK on the back of the shoe? How much did it cost you? I need to bring my old 450s in to a place to get them repaired a bit.

I said it's a rumor I heard.  My source is pretty reliable.  My guess would be if they are coming out with one, the MLB guys will field test them first before they are made available to the public.

No, that doesn't make sense, not with NB being the supplier to the MLB guys, right?

My first thought was if Nike is going to come out with a plate shoe, they are going to make a run to get the MLB contract...

Let me know if the sharpie turns a purpleish color.  I haven't had any luck w/ the sharpie on my shoes.  I hope it works for you though

I didnt use a Sharpie marker, I agree it turns purple in a hurry. I used the Sharpie "paint" marker. I field tested it on my running shoes for a couple weeks prior. I will post pics tonight.

Again, I have no other knowledge than what I was told by a fairly reliable source...that at some point this year Nike is coming out with a plate shoe.  I'm simply making a guess that they would field test them with MLB umpires first, but that's all it is...a guess on my part.  Maybe they'll test them with the MiLB guys.
