Visually, @rjt6, the telltale distinguishing characteristics between the Nike Titanium and the Wilson A3007/8 is the shape of the U-&-inverted-U, the shape of the throat guard, and the shape of the ear guards. Wilson uses a more pointed U (more like a V than the true U to the Nike and +POS). The ear guards on the Nike tend to taper down, while the Wilson ear guards drop straight vertically. Lastly, at least from what I've been able to tell, the throat guard on the Nike is wider than the Wilson.

The difference between the Nike and the +POS is all about the weld points, and their quality, and I believe the Nike's throat guard is a bit longer. In all three, the ear guard support struts are triangular. You'll notice, though, that the new Wilson masks have gone with a single horizontal support strut. You'll also notice the new +POS MAG-T has "squared" everything off – the throat guard, the extended crown guard, the ear guards and the two U's. Looks like a rival to the Diamond DFM-iX3 UMP (but, more than likely, Diamond copied / used / ganked a design of Dan's).

Since the throat guard on the Nike goes pretty much straight down, if you put it on the inside, it restricts your head from looking down, where on the outside, you have full range of motion, and it still adds some length.

thanks, ........that's not the first time I've heard that..................

Sarcasm?  Detecting sarcasm isn't my best skill.

I've never seen anyone wear the TG on the outside. No way it can provide the same protection

I put mine under(on the bottom of) the attached TG, not in front of or behind it. Is that safe? Or should it be elsewhere?

you want to understand your own stance, and where your TG hangs in accordance to your chest protector.  that will determine what placement is best ............

those pics are of the Nike mask w/ a TG ....it's own extension as discussed, drops almost straight down ....

if it does what you need it to do for your stance, it's correct.......

Just off the top of my head, I know that Jim Wolf, and Brian O'Nora wear the TG on the outside.

Look at that humongous gap on the second pic!

Gerry Davis does.  It doesn't offer the same amount of protection as wearing it inside but it is better than nothing there.  The only time I don't wear an extended guard is if Im wearing the platinum.

My new baby, MVP 2500 with leather chin pad and 6in Wilson TG. Love the feel of this thing, especially the leather chin pad, much more comfortable than cloth.

Here's a picture sorry about that. Love this helmet $125 worth every penny.

At least is black. Don't wear it with navy ball bags!

From the sound of things, @BaltimoreUmpire is going to have to wear navy ball bags. All he's got for shirts are Navy and navy-trimmed Powder. :/ #NeedMoreShirts

And I think it black trimmed powder or polo blue I'd need to check.

As an evaluator in my association if someone is wearing a black cap or helmet they better be wearing black ball bags.

Ok, that has nothing to do with a navy shirt, and ball bag discussions don't belong in this thread

I love it when the discussion veers towards accessorizing....
