From what I have read on here and elsewhere, this is a textbook umpire school play from day 1 on time plays.

The umpire should immediately turn (unless he is sleeping on the play) and signal no run. Does not require any type of discussion. Although the correct call was made, I am sure the umpire school instructors would be disappointed in the way the conclusion was reached. Hey, stuff happens, we all have brain cramps, and even though it is looking very good that this umpire will get one of the next openings and is definitely a fine umpire and deserves it, I am sure he or any other umpire will get dinged on this one, for those who think they don't get dinged.

Glad I wasn't at the game to once again see another millionaire or potential millionaire dogging it on the bases. Wow, 2 dog jobs over 2 days. And 2 days of making the 3rd out at 3rd by another trailing runner. Right in there with coach pitch level players.

Gross miss by an otherwise good umpire. Kept my Nats from clinching last night.

He must have fell asleep. Did he forget what his job is? And, why do you have a discussion about this? There is only 1 person whose job it is to know if the run counts or not. The other 3 are mere spectators. Time to wake up a bit.

What is with these umpires at this level not knowing whose call it is and what the call is? That is 2 like this in about a week.
