We have grads of both schools in our group and you can't go wrong in either school. We have a kid that just graduated HS going to Jim's this year. We are giving him money from our group plus private donations from the individual guys. I don't know if that falls in with the charitable donation fund but that is our project for the group.

I signed up and paid my deposit for Harry's 5 week Pro school... alright here I come FL

If it is not too much trouble, maybe you can post here a couple times a week during your time in FL. There is not a lot of info from the inside that I can find. I did read a blog written by a female ump from Australia (or NZ) during her term at JEAPU. Enjoyable for sure.

Would love to hear about what you learn as an experienced umpire going through this school. What do you find hard to adjust to? What surprised you? What is the endurance factor? What is the balance of mechanincs/rules/game management? What does the typical student look like? (Young, fit, single? or Old, thick, trying to become single?) How many are typically selected for PBUC eval? Who is the best instructor?

et cetera

Looking forward to your view from the inside! :)

I suggest leaving the posting about school until they return. They will be too busy in classes, studying the rulebook and working on their mechanics. There will be very few free minutes that they won't be thinking about their classes. It is extremely exhausting, partying is strongly suggested not to do. Being late or unprepared is not tolerated, sleeping is to be grabbed when possible.

Although I am as anxious as anybody to know how our members are making out but posting on a website should be the last thing they shoould be doing. If anybody gets a job the schools will tell them to get off the internet.

I always thought the same. However, I know a minor leaguer on a social network, and he posts some things that I wouldn't imagine someone in that situation doing.

If any of our members get a job hopefully they come back here and share their experiences before they are forced off by their bosses. What some guys, especially young guys, that no matter how secure they think their messaging is, it isn't. Be careful saying things about your place of employment no matter your line of work. I know a guy that jambed up at work for busting on his boss on FB and he is a cook. There was a case a few years ago where a woman was off on medical leave because she couldn't type because of her carpal tunnel but she was posting on FB every day.
