not recommended. Time and a place for everything. Mask stayed on entire time til top 7. Between innings , pitching changes, rotations. Again, not recommended.

I once made it to the seventh without taking it off once I put it in and said play. Players sent trainer of the female gender out with water for me. Mask had to come off for that.

Rookie level manager forgets to write half of his pen on the lineup card

It's just the way some leagues operate. -

Leagues can make a rule that you have to include subs on the lineup. -
There is a difference in avoiding a tag and making an attempt towards second. Let the kid avoid the tag and keep him at first.

I predict that your statement will be proven to be "wrong".

Textbook INT
-
"Make sure I get credit for the RBI then."
-
You can say that about any missed call whether it's a pulled foot, strike or swipe tag. Sometimes plays develop where you are unable to be in the optimum position.
-
Those "mistakes" happen. And yes there are instances where you do not have an opportunity to get a good adjustment step. Never say never. There is no valid reason to miss anything if we do what we should but hey, there is not one person that is that good.
-
You can call whatever you like. I am just sharing how the OBR rule is to be interpreted and enforced.
-
Azul is correct. If the initial throw by F2 retires the runner then the INT is disregarded.
-
A runner is not allowed to wave his arms, throw an arm out, etc, intentionally to interfere with a thrown ball. This is INT regardless if contact with the ball is made or not. Contact is not a requirement for the INT to be called.
-
That is definitely INT. The runner's actions were intentional. You do not need contact to have INT.
-
If the INITIAL throw retires a runner the INT is disregarded. If that criteria is not met then the batter is out and runners return. This is assuming that the batter is not out on strikes at the time of INT. HuskerUmp, where do you umpire at? I live in Waverly member of the CUA

Required to keep count but only by memory. The BU should keep his clicker in his ball bag along with his Skittles and water.
-
Wait until you have a righty batter and a lefty catcher with a steal attempt. Bottom line. Get in the slot and up as much as possible without having to explain umpires interference to the irate coach. We don't need to reinvent the wheel.

Pre pitch positioning is based on the likelihood of a particular play on a non batted ball. With R1/R3 those plays are the pickoff attempt at 1st and the steal attempt of 2nd. Once the ball is batted, you are expected to be in proper position given any particular play.
-
As the runner is coming home, the PU has to establish best possible positioning. On a straight steal, that positioning is where you are standing as the pitch comes in. BU needs to read this play as well. With R3 only, as soon as the pitch is caught, BU needs to bust hump to position halfway between home and 3rd for possible rundown. Once the runner starts back towards 3rd, the PU can now move up the line in foul territory to assume the home half of the rundown. Once there, PU should communicate "I've got this half". BU can then slide towards 3rd and assume that half of the rundown. When a tag happens in the grey area, eye contact must be established between the crew, and what has been shared earlier, tap of the chest to take the call. With multiple runners, you do exactly the same until R3 retreats towards 3rd giving PU and opportunity to assume half. If R3 turns towards home and enters PUs half, PU can communicate "I've got it all" releasing BU to pick up the other base runners. When that happens PU will have entire rundown including R3 back into 3rd.

Any time you have a runner scoring with a play being made to first you need to be 1BLX for pulled foot/swipe tag. Once that play is complete you must adjust for potential play at the plate, 3BLX. Sometimes you just have to move. Standing POP does absolutely nothing.

Guess game times might no longer be an issue. Legalize PEDs. That should get the offense moving again. Clowns.
-
I believe this amended verbiage applies to the BR hindering the catcher not whether or not the BR makes contact with the ball. There is a difference in hindering F2 and hindering F2s ability to field the ball by unintentionally deflecting it.
-
The throw is considered "continuing action". You cannot deny a request based on the fact that a throw was made during a steal attempt. Pitch, runner stealing, throw down, all one play.
-
This is just terminology to reinforce proper communication and responsibilities. When you are "on the line" you have no responsibilities at 3rd. When you "have the ball" you are responsible for plays at 3rd as well as catch no catch. I have brought this up during post games with younger guys to reinforce responsibilities and thought processes. Do I care what you say? Not if you know your responsibilities. I have typically found that those whom give demerits over silliness like this are typically the ones that kill grass while working the bases.
