I can't decide if it looks cool or different. I have one, but it is probably not worth the price. It does it's job and looks good on a silver or Ti frame.

If I could do it agian I would save the money, but we are on this forum becauase we like gear. I wear my <acronym title='Hockey Style Mask '>HSM</acronym> 80% of the time, but it is currently on the traditional mask I wear the rest of the time. It is crazy light.

I wonder about fitment of TW's as well. I was pretty sure one would need to cut the strap on bottom. I'm glad to hear it has been done without issue as I am expecting both in the mail. My other quest

Any consensus on the all-star magnesium throat guard? Is it worth getting one of these if one is getting the fm4000 mask?

The TG is huge. I have a pic on my Facebook page. Will try to post it here tomorrow.

I still like it.

I found your Facebook photo...geesh... It is huge....Not sure I want to spend 30.00 on it?... I am planning on putting team Wendy pads on this rig.

My other question is did you attach a throat guard? Did you spring for a $30 magnesium All-Star? The system 7 mask seems to have a smaller built-in throat area, possibly because it is designed to be worn with the dangler? What do y'all say?

is it huge like an outside chest pad, or huge as to say, "along with my disdain for concussions I hate the idea of a baseball contacting my throat, and have taken the most technology-forward precautions to see that it never happens"?

1. If you spend $30 for a throat guard, you have more money than you know what to do with. Buy another shirt with that cash.

2. I wore MidAmUmp's FM4000 yesterday in a game. It is a nice mask. Lighter than my Titanium, the vision is just as good if not better. I would have loosened the straps a little more, but he had them cut off. The only thing I didn't like was the shape of the bottom pad around the chin. It kind of made it hard to talk and I felt muffled.

I have the mask along with the $30 TP.

Some say the TP is big but I don't mind. Been hit on the throat and lucky to be alive.

I have worn the FM4000 all season. I really like this mask. I use a 4" plastic TG attached to the bottom of the extension. I have been "clacked " a couple of times. Every thing did its job.

Cutting the middle strap on the chin pad was no big deal.

as soon as I wrote about my disdain for the thought of a ball ever hitting my throat I ordered the d@mñ $30 magnesium. I ordered the best mask I thought I could. I like that it is steel so it will last, yet it weighs just one pound. I like that it is designed to deflect balls rather than withstand them. I ordered Team Wendys pads to do any withstanding that a direct shot may necessitate. I had trouble picturing the rig without thinking it may look weird, but my main concern was if the TP would ever get in the way when you are ripping the mask off.

After a partner (who has impeccable mechanics) took one in the throat recently, I decided to order the $30 TP. Got $3 off cause I still have a valid coupon for 10% off at UA. I hate the plastic TP, so we'll see how I feel about this one.
