Cup Suggestions

Ok, so I was a catcher all through my career on the diamond, and now I become an umpire because I love the game so much. Although I love getting behind the plate calling balls and strikes, once again I find myself in the situation of having to adjust my cup after about every 2-3 pitches. All the up and down, side-to-side movements between pitches is getting old.

I guess what I am wanting to know is if anyone else out there has/has had this problem and if so, what they have done fix it or at least adjust to it better. I wear compression shorts currently and I have even tried a jockstrap with the compression shorts but it just doesn't seem to work for me. Any help out there?

Just remember if you happen to see the Under Armour ones out there still they've been recalled. I'm pretty happy with my Shock Doctor Carbon Fiber from Ump-Attire.

I've owned this for all season now. I can't even feel it when working. And when I get hit, I'm not even shocked, can't feel the hit other than pressure on my groin.

I bought a Nutty Buddy as well this season. It has been great. I forgot it at one game and had to wear my old cup. Not having it for a game made me realize just how much better it is. Follow the instructions on their website and you will be set. I wear mine with the jock they sell and a pair of ankle length tights purchased elsewhere.

First cup I have worn that I could not feel. Great. Maybe we can get catchers to wear them so that they are not constantly taking them out to bat and then having to wait on them to put them back in between innings.

I like UnderArmour. The issue I have with NuttyBuddy is that fact you have to wear a jock OVER the compressions.

That to me just sees like belt and suspenders and thus, not comfortable..

I wear the same as UIC above. Can't really feel it much. I might try the one suggested when I need a new one. What I have is good.

I just finished a game tonight using the "compressioncupjock" combo with my cup (looks just like an "XO") for the first time. Worked great once I got adjusted. I struggled all spring with "the wandering cup" issue till this system was suggested to me.

Bought the cup the day after I posted the original message and got it in for a tournament that weekend. I love it. Only thing, it does seem to still ride up on me a bit and every so often I have to push it back down, but in regards to not noticing the cup on me, very true. Cannot even feel it like you would a normal cup. Thanks!

well i had one of those games last nite. i took a direct shot in my silver diamond mask, slightly bent a bar, the u-bar just below the eye box, all welds held up well though, same batter took one in the boys, i wear mcdavids with a shock doctor cup, never hurt, felt the "pressure", but no pain, i'll stick to what worked for me.

Ill have to look for the shock doctor cups last year. I need to replace the cup I have and this sounds like one of the latest and greatest.
