My gear, and my clothes are in the truck. Even if I leave from home, I dress at the parking lot, park away from the crowds, open the doors and get dressed. Even in the rare event that there is a dressing room, it is almost inconvenience to haul all my stuff there that I need.

If you are sure F3's foot is on the bag and the throw beat the runner call the out. If the ball beat the runner and you are unsure if the foot was on the bag immediately ask your partner if the foot was on the bag, if he is an position to provide input, because if it was you have an out. If the ball did not beat the runner it is irrelevant, call the safe. I can't say I have asked very often.

Some years ago I tossed a pitcher in the first inning of a college age player wood bat summer league game before any outs were recorded. The why is not important. I was BU. So for second game I am PU and the HC comes to me and says he was thinking of pitching the pitcher I tossed in the 1st game. I told him that game was over and if the pitcher could behave himself I would have no problem with him. He pitched a great 2nd game and was on his best behavior.

With a big smile on my face, "where is my strike zone, you kidding me, right, before the game even starts?" I like to call strikes and I have a short fuse for assistants.

EJ#1 is good, for unsportsmanslike conduct or initiating a fight, but not MC. EJ#2, ignore assistant's remarks until it is time to dump them for remarks. Any coach, HC or Asst who says to me that I need to read the rules is a goner. EJ#3, not enough info. What is an "altercation?". Your partner did not dump anyone involved in this altercation, but you dump someone who drops his bat in the on deck and starts that way. If the altercation was in fact a fight then the parties involved are dumped along with anyone who joins in.

Bryce Harper was ejected last year for same thing. It is automatic. 4 or 5 years ago I had the leadoff hitter for the home team in the 1st inning draw a line in the dirt past the plate after I rang him up for strike 3. The HC came running down the 3b line from his box hollering "please let me take care of this", so I did.

Well since they had 7 games and I only had 4 it made sense for me to do three plates. Then they did two each. Ironically the one game I was on the bases the guy on the plate did not compromise his strike zone in the same way he was asking me to. I've been in situations like this before though, where I don't want to make waves and then have it cause me to be overlooked for games. If they want to work 7 games they should be prepared to work 3 plates and 4 bases or 4 plates and 3 bases. If I am working 4 games it makes sense to work 2/2, regardless of what they do.

If I ejected anyone, and my partner said no, we would soon be engaged in a very heated discussion out of ear shot of the coaches. Full of SH*# would certainly be involved in the discussion. If we could not agree and I was not UIC I would likely finish the game (for the kids) and make sure I never work with him again.

Good EJ.. However I would not tell HC who to put in and I would not talk to anyone other that HC. Scorekeeper in the dugout is same as scorekeeper in the stands who is same as scorekeeper in S. Dakota. And who gives a crap how many tattoos you have blazing on your sleeveless arms. Does that make you a badass? And what does that have to do with this? Best to leave the macho at home when you go umpiring, lest you run up on an old geezer who is a real former badass.

A league that would abandon you for these calls is not worth working. I would rather spend my extra time spraying ant hils in my yard.

If I read "ran over the opposing team's catcher" I got to go with MC at this age especially. Ran over does not imply he slid into, collided with while trying to avoid or score, etc. Ran over is ran over, why anyone would attempt to defend is beyond me.

All good advice. Chirping from the dugout must be stopped and soon. Players in the dugout will take on the attitude of the coaching staff so if you want an epidemic on your hands give the coaches a long leash. Gestures from the mound must be stopped and soon. The last ejections I had started with a pitcher complaining and ended with the HC complaining about the pitcher ejection. Both gone. Team did not have a smart catcher....

I don't have anything until I am told what happened when F6 threw the ball towards 1b. If it went out of play then this is the second play and runners placed accordingly, TOT. I cant imagine anyone giving an answer without more info than what is written here.

At the plate meeting you hear this "so do you want to admit know that you were wrong the other night". I would say "are you wanting to be tossed now?"

Personal, profane and prolonged will get a coach ejected. I consider it personal to comment that I should learn the rules.

During a game a catcher asked me, "how do you put up with it?". I said "put up with what?". He said "the fans". I said "what fans?". Why I would pay any attention to fans with gripes on the way in, during, or on the way out, I don't know.

"Well I'm on the league board, and I'm telling you, I'm watching you both! You're asking for a protest!" Toss him.

If F8 catches a fly ball for 3rd out and runs toward the dugout, we are not going to wait till he reaches in to get the ball to toss to the mound as he passes to call the out. When a fielder puts the tag and hold his glove up to show the ball, we will call the out also. If during the tag the ball comes loose then safe.
