I have a WVP and I love it. The question is is a douglas that much better, and is it cooler and more comfortable? I love my WVP, but Im always looking to upgrade my equipment. I truly believe you need to buy the best, becasue you get what you pay for.

<acronym title='Ump-Attire.com'>UA</acronym> Leggings
semperfiguy replied to T-Rav's topic in Umpire Equipment
I wear UA tights as well. They are terrific. It took me a while to understand that even on a warm day they pull the sweat off your body keeping you cool. Also, you dont have that giant sweat stain that makes you look like you have a urinary issue (LOL)! And when you wear leggings your shin guards feel like they are not even there.BUt i have yet to try the core ventilated leggings. I might just make that purchase. I believe they are a bit cooler than regular leggings. Balls and strikes baby!!!! -
Try giving Jim Kirk a call at Umpattire. Their shirts are outstanding, and made right here in the USA. You will not find better customer service for all of your needs relative to umpire equipment. I too felt forced to buy my associations shirts from Honigs. Now I buy the patch for $5 and have my tailor sew it on. And Im willing to bet my shirts will out last all 15 that were purchased. Trust me on this one!!! Balls and strikes baby!!!!

Very serious situation. However, its obvious Brad and the good people at All star care about what they do and how they conduct business. Kudos to you and your staff Brad. Too bad POS cant take a page out of your book. They would still have the MiLB contract for uniforms. I like to see customer service oriented companys take ownership and responsibility for the products they sell. Hence why I constantly spread the word of Jim Kirk at UmpAttire. Great heads up Brad!! Im with you Johnny G, I wear the navy w/rwb open bottom. I always tuck, and I agree notonly is it easier to tuck, its the only way to wear them. I recently watched my sons play both a babe ruth game and a little league game. Both umpires wore banded jackets. It not only looked unprofessional, but fat. If you tuck it in it looks great with your belt and pants.

Oakley polarized flak jackets. They reduce glare, and allow the clarity of the lense, to help you make the call based on what you are seeing. They truly make a difference. Well worth the money!!! Balls and strikes baby!!!

I wear the NB 450 on the plate, and the 995 on the bases. I wear UA socks for now, but after speaking with kevin form Honigs at our association meeting he recommended Force 3 socks. He says they take all the stress off your feet. Im due for a change. Major Dave gives some great advice though. Professional orthotics are truly teh onlyway to go if you have foot problems. I have a killer bunion. I ordered both my shoes wide (bases EE, plate EEEE). I have had no issues since. Very happy with NB. balls and strikes baby!!!

Im a big fan of "THE DANGLER!!!!!"

Im a big fan of my WVP. It provides excellent protection as is right out of the box. Im not sure you want to be adjusting and making design changes to offer either more comfort or more protection. More importantly, why would anyone want to remove any padding at all. Just my opinion. i think you cant go wrong with any wilson product. I cant imagine a product that provides better protection that MLB wouldnt be using. I understand the issue of Licensed products. But it seems that from what I ve read, the WVG or WVP are the two premier Cp's out there. I base this on numerous blogs on this site as well as others. balls and strikes baby!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wear the wilson new view with the doe skin wrap around pads. I love this mask and it provides excellent protection as well as comfort. Just a thought! Balls and strikes baby!!!

As we say in my line of work- keep your hands where I can see em!!!

Im in camp #1. I too use to use the #2 method, and found the later to be not only easier, but much easier to keep your indicator safely in your hand (should you choose to use one, I do). Balls and strikes baby!!!

Kevin I agree, TJ Maxx is an excellent place to price shop for active wear. I usually buy form one of our reputable baseball websites, but if you look long and hard enough, you cna score some deals at the Maxx. Balls and strikes baby!!!

Outstanding look. I am truly jealous. Its an expense I need to justify to myself, then you see one and wonder why you havent ordered one yet. Because my association chooses navy as its primary color, im not sure which color to order. Black looks so much cooler. Kind of like buying a BMW!!!!

My Association MBUA requires navy shirt and hat, so as you can imagine we use navy ball bags as well. I would love nothing more than to switch to balck as a primary color. But that is probably not going to happen anytime soon. Also of note, our hats only come in Navy. Because we have a contract with Honigs for an association discount, we cant even order them in black just to match our black ball bags and shirts if we choose to switch it up. I wish we could just follow MLB. Black is beautiful baby!!!

I currently wear UA compression shorts under my UA tights. The only problem is the cup floats in the UA Shorts. I have been debating buying a Nutty Buddy for close to a year now. Idid find however my McDavid shorts hold the cup more naturally. I was thinking of upgrading to the stainless steel cup. Still not quite sure.

Get yourself an iphone. You wont be sorry. Its right up there with the wilson gold/platinum cp's. the gold standard of equipment. -
Polarized Oakley M-Frames!!! nothing Better. And Im sure everyone puts some money away from working games for equipment replacement. You just have to make your glasses a priority. Once yo do "pull the trigger", you wont be sorry! - Balls and stikes baby!!! :notworthy:

Eight years ago, I became state certified as an umpire andalso had the daunting task of selecting both uniforms as well as protective gear. A close friend recomended Plus-POS to me. At the time they were a very reputable company that actually had the MILB Contract. I spent close to $1000.00 between gear and uniforms. Best advice I ever got. Most of my gear is still very serviceable. I too have upgraded like many on this website, to include Platinum CP and shins. Also as you move up in skill, you will be afforded the opportunity to expand your uniform shirt colors as well. Good luck and have fun. Dont go spend a grand, but dont skrimp on protective gear. You will thank yourself for it. Balls and strikes baby!!!!

I do all of my pants. It looks outstanding. Very professional looking. The creases stand out and give you a sharp dressed appearance. Do it you wont be sorry!!!! Balls and strikes baby!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too have a permanent crease sewed into my pants. Makes them look ultra-sharp, and always pressed. Well worth the short money. Balls and strikes baby!!!!
