  1. Fechheimer makes the coats for Honings (i believe, will have to look at mine to confirm). I bought one last year, this thing wears like iron. Pretty heavy fabric, quality stitching and construction. I wore it for at least 14 games last season and it looks perfect.
  2. Nothing, you played it right, your read was right, the runner changed his mind. As long as you tell your partner you are going home, third should be covered. Just because the play went down at third after you went home on your initial read doesn't mean you made a mistake.
  3. Well, I've been contimplating, since I got my Douglas-Douglas last year, of removing the extra pad over the shoulder. I found it to be very bulky, made my plate coat fit very different, and I don't feel it added THAT much extra protection. So I finally removed it yesterday. Felt much better last night behind the plate in an 18U showcase game. I think I spent extra money on something that's not going to come into play.
  4. Only thing I would say to do different is to keep your eyes on the plate when calling a strike and not turn so you can't see the plate.
  5. See what happens when you cross the Red River! No cup, empty Skol can.
  6. Took a shot on Sunday, glancing shot but didn't feel a thing. Each hit makes them worth getting.
  7. I have worn my jacket in the field nearly every game this season, less three. I should have pulled it on last night but didn't. If I was at the dish, several of my partners have borrowed it to keep warm.
  8. Is the zipper on the right side? Worked with a couple guys who bought this thermal jacket from Honigs and the zipper was on the wrong side for a male jacket.
  9. So a year of using hair spray and Murphy's Oil soap, I've noticed that if you don't get all the hair spray off every time you clean then it leaves a cloudy film on the shoes when they get wet. Make sure you get it all off then start over each time you clean them. I'm also a fan of a good polishing, Kiwi polish, lighter and a moist cotton ball, for a good base of shine.
  10. took a little glance off my left toe, felt nothing. it's deceiving they are so light you'd think you're giving up protection, but the NB 450 didn't give any more protection by being heavy and bulky. The protection seems to bee just like the Reebok Magistrate.
  11. I rolled these out on Monday night, if you need a new pair of plate shoes you owe it to yourself to give these a try. The protection is as good as the old Reeboks, and they are light. Was very easy to run in these so much so that for a minute I thought I might have forgotten plate shoes at all.
  12. I just picked up a pair of the all black. Amazing how comfortable these shoes are. I'm coming off the NB 450 so these feel like a slipper compared to those. Working tonight, so going to give them a roll in live action.
  13. Looks like I'm going to have to educate you guys on what the right call is in this siituation, you and John both missed it. Ground rule triple, every time.
  14. Oakley sets the market price and there is minimal is any deviation. If they are not a premium price.....they are fake.
  15. Long sleeve shirt of pull-over jacket behind the plate when it's cold? (Please note plate coat along with response to the question if you wear one)
