I just look forward to baseball. I love the game and appreciate being part of the game. the fact that we make a few bucks is icing on the cake. There is snow on the ground now, but soon enough it will be game time! balls and strikes baby!!!!

Fortunatley that why coaches and umpires have very specific roles. It appears to be just that, incidental contact. Both players have a right to make a play. the fielder to attempt a catch, and the runner has the right to the lane. obstruction would be the call if you saw it that way. But some coaches dont even know the rules. you might want to remind the offensive coach, be careful what you wish for you just might get it!! Balls and strikes baby!!!

Wally- i wear a traditional mask. I did notice wilsons new shock fx hsm. Certainly looks hot. But helmets are just not my style. I am somewhat traditional. My current pluspos mask is starting to wear as teh vinyl coating is peeling off. I just dont know which one to buy. I call upper level ball and am willing to pay for my protection. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I dont wear either. But I do have ribbed calvein klein underwear!!!

Major Dave- good to hear from you again, I follow your posts over at abua. I am a former U.S. Marine. So image is everything to me. Im with you. Uniformity is everything. Dont think for a minute that fans, parents and the like dont notice officials that dont look the part. first impressions more often than not do last a lifetime. Also remember people will refer to how you called your last game just by how they remember you if you made a poor impression. It would be better to have them say "oh thats #79, sharp dressed guy and he takes charge and calls a good game. Balls and strikes baby!!!

Hey guys- I have been doing HS, BR,Legion and some mens league. But you really cant afford to scrimp on protection. Yes it costs more initially but you said you look to move up. I currently wear a plus-pos bb2000 hard shell protection. Great cp, however I am looking at getting a west vest platinum. Again protection is paramount, and like they say you get what you pay for. just my input. Balls and strikes baby!!!!:D
