@Thunderheads...Sold! Lock it up!

Why would any company come out with new equipment for us? All that happens, is critics talk about what we perceive as negatives. What I have seen on this forum: 1. A low profile, adjustable, hard shell protector in multiple sizes.(see likes and dislikes of unequal and they seem to be included in here) 2. We are frugal with our money until others justify it for us. I commend Dan and PlusPos for fighting the fight to provide us with new options and technology in spite of the critical nature of his audience.

Black Honigs Frame - Like new, Just found it...don't remember ever using it and it doesn't look like it has been used either. Pads are used part-time for 1 season - no issues. Harness included as well. LMK.

First off, I agree with Jax that if it is a one or the other go with the Polywool's but if you want a solid pair of pants these are very good. Points about them: The pair I have, the charcoal color is closer to a Gerry Davis than Honigs. Quality: I rate materials, construction, cut and durability slightly higher than GD. Negative: Belt loops on mine make getting 1.75 thick belts through tough.

Gentlemen, I know we have not been able to find the Majestic version of these coats, but I think I have found a (knock-off) version. Look up Walter Hagen Men's Golf Rain Jacket and you will find a version that closely represents the Majestic Version seen sporadically this year in the bigs. Differences: No MLB Logo, No Majestic Symbol, No White Cuff. Why might this be the jacket? Walter Hagen is a Wilson Company...Wilson Provider for MLB umpire equipment...IDK? Thoughts?

One thing that I don't think gets mentioned that much, and I do appreciate about NB is their price points on Field shoes. They provide us with quality, in most cases durable, and extremely comfortable options year in year out for a reasonable price. Shoes(any shoes) at a retail price of under $70 is refreshing and I applaud NB for doing this. Some might say that their plates are a little high, but given the production cost vs market need each year I still feel like they are very competitive.

1st question you want to ask yourself is: Do I want leather or cloth against my face for around 2 hours a day? If the answer is leather, I would recommend the Honigs Non-Wrap Leather Pads, I got hit in the mask with a thrown bat last year and didn't suffer any ill affects...I think these pads are a big reason why. If the answer is cloth, the reviews are mixed. Alot like TW's, while some will say they are too hard. Some will say Wilson Memory foam...and no one on here will say they are too hard and most say...too soft.

@midtnump - mine buckles and slides slightly with the delta but I don't know if that is because of the delta or that I am slimmer in the waist area and thicker in the chest.

@midtnump - The straps are nearly Identical...and the straps on the side of the catchers version are not elastic...so they are actually shorter than the ump version. I have another modification that I did to those to make it work.

@gnhbua93 - beggars can't be choosers...I thought a freebee used delta was a perfect for my back-up. I actually have another freebee black catchers one on my gamer...sold my umpire used one for retail price when there were none to be had. I guess I feel the catchers version is fine for a piece that is never seen.

Modification to this CP: removed the neck pad with a scissors cutting along the seam to allow the plastic to move closer to the neck and provide better protection. I have this cp as a backup to my retrofitted WVP, have always liked it but after this modification I really like it!

@kylejt I had a mag, had it as my one black mask until the Wilson aluminum took its place. I liked it, but just liked the profile of the Wilson more.

I will agree I don't understand the $175 for this rig, given the fact that I have sold a few powder coated in like new condition NSNR on here for around $100, but I will say I did have a positive transaction on a +pos zero-g last summer with this seller.

If I had a wvg and wanted to get it retrofitted I would request my retrofit be made out of the platinum padding with the wings plastic sewn to the wvp shaped pad. Just my thought. P.S. I have the wvp retrofitted and I really like it.

I know TW and Wilson Memory Foams are the hot items right now, but tonight I took a bat on a swing directly to the mask and luckily feel no ill effects. For those of you that prefer leather these have withstood a pretty good tagging.

Bill, I had a wvg and a wvp at the same time and was trying to decide which to retro. I went with the wvp for 2 reasons: 1) I like the one piece collarbone plastic pieces 2) I liked the shape of the wvp pad more that the wvg flaps and plastic area. Upon getting the wvp back I noticed the neck bubble being much more prominent and removed it with a seem ripper. I then worked on the shoulders to curve them more since the profile changed dramatically. I really like it. If you want pictures pm me your number and I wi get you some tomorrow.

For Me there is 1 mask that I desire above all others: Nike TI. After that there are about 4 others that are a coin flip due because they are nearly the same in weight, but have slight difference in shape and cost: Wilson TI(any of the 3 shapes), Wilson Aluminum, +Pos Zero-G, Rawlings TI. Dang man...judging from Tony's website I am guessing a return trip to Mask-it may be your best option. That blows...
