Many times in discussions I will ask the coach what he saw or what his interpretation is on a certain play. If he is correct in what he is presenting but just saw the play differently then I tell him that if that had happened he would be correct but that wasn't what I had. I have even told them that from their side it probably looked like they say but from my side I saw it differently. It tells them that I am not disputing what they think they saw, but it is staying the way I saw it. Very disarming to semi-agree but still not change the call. Now if they are handing you a myth, or a misinterpretation, tell them so, nicely. I have told them that I understand what they are saying and that it is commonly believed to be correct, but it is not, then explain what is correct.

I guess you are missing my point, it works on this video, good job. I mention my bias to say that I make the compliment even though I have a tremendous bias. As to your example, never heard of him, don't care. You have absolutely no knowledge of what the promoters do or not do, I have first hand knowledge of the business, you have opinion and supposition and a teenage naivete.

I'm saying I hate rap and everything about it but in this case it does fit. And believe me I have worked with the biggest in the business personally, it is not music, it is straight repetition, The artist are out to screw the promoters and fans, the promoters are out to screw the acts and could care less about the fans. I set these shows up and go to my office to avoid the noise.However, it does work here but if I was doing the videos I would use music only, no vocals at all, no matter the genre.

I had a football coach get in my face and I was just chain crew. It was enough to bring the white hat running. No flags but I never had a problem with the coach the rest of the night.

First off, good video. Now to music choice, I am in the business and I despise everything to do with rap,hip/hop. I hate the repetition, lack of musicality, the complete lack of honesty by the promoters and performers. The only genre I work where we have to use metal detectors and pat downs on the stage door. However, in this case, the lyrics do match the video content. I personally just turn the noise off and watch the video but then you lack the total experience. My rant on rap is simply to show how deep my bias is against it.

I have officiated soccer,baseball and volleyball. I have administrated softball,basketball,wrestling, and football. I also site manage a sports complex that covers soccer,field hockey,lax,kickball,baseball,softball and even occasionally extreme Frisbee. I have seen and even diagnosed my share of concussions. Looking for signs of concussion can be as varied and confusing as signs of a heart attack. Some will show very minor signs, others several signs. The important thing is if you see any, get them out of the game.

Official stance, check the equipment. A late player or a bat added late, we can't be responsible.

Never had a concussion, never used a bucket, never will. I scissor so according to the smart money, I am at great risk of concussion, not my experience. I wear a traditional mask and have no desire to wear anything else. I've had masks spin, other times they have depressed and popped straight in front of me. Look at the difference between boxing gloves and MMA gloves. The 4 oz gloves of MMA will cause a concussion much faster than the heavier boxing gloves but because of that the heavier gloves can cause longer health issues. Basically it comes down to use the best gear you can afford, use what is comfortable for you, not what somebody says is better. Concussions are a complete crap shoot, you can take shot after shot and all of a sudden you get wacked. If you have symptoms don't be a hero, get treated and take the time off. Coming back too fast will put you out longer.

Stan, many don't understand the importance of the old Sporting News OBR. I have several Referees editions, CCA manual, Fed rulebook and casebook, Rules by Topic,and the Fed books on my phone. I want to add the HW manual and PBUC. My problem is I am trying to get a national certification for my job, similar to an engineering test or electrical license test so that is going to take some of my time and it's own set of books.

Now thats funny................ok so we work a game together, how do we decide who gets the plate? flip for it? rock , paper, scissors? who gets dressed in plate gear first? arm wrestle? Best two out of three falls I personally like the plate but have no problem with bases. When I don't know my partner, or he is inexperienced, I prefer taking the plate. I know if he will cover the bases if I go out, is he moving out from the plate on fly balls, is he covering third? If I am on the plate I can watch him and plug the hole.

I don't really care if parents think an ejection is harsh for bat throwing. Truly carelessly thrown is dangerous. LL never wrote a rule for it because too many just can't figure the difference between a dangerous throw and a clearing throw. If a batter is throwing the bat, after his swing and it is under control, probably good. He lets go as part of his swing, or helicopters it after his swing, not so much. I certainly don't mean he has to lovingly lay it on the ground, but he can't turn it into a deadly weapon either.
