Why did Moore apply a second tag after the initial swipe tag? Because he missed the runner initially. Runner was safe.

No clue. Trying to fiugre out Bob Davidson would be an exercise in futility

I work multiple Baseball events at Disney WWOS each year. I have seen my fair share of coaches and players ejected. Hell, I saw an umpire toss a disabled one legged coach. I never heard of the above policy when working at WWOS.

MLB umpires have many bad habits that they can get away with because, well they are MLB umpires. They have a contract. If they had to worry about whether they had a job tomorrow based on their previous game eval then it might be a different story.

I have a balk on F1

Tonight in the Rays vs Yankees game, HP umpire Dana DeMuth is rocking a black long sleeved shirt under his short sleeve. Are you freakin kidding me?

Did you split the center velcro strip? Yes sir. Hated that I had to do it too :hopmad:

I have put the Team Wendays pads on my FM4000. They feel much better than the stock FM4000 pads.

INT on R1. R1 and BR are out. Force Play Slide Rule.

Just got this from google. Baseball - Fri, Mar 23, 2012 at 10:48 AM COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. - Baseball Coaches, Athletic Directors, Umpires and Region Directors: The NCAA has announced the decertification of the 33-inch Reebok Vector-TLS baseball bats. Effective immediately, the 33-inch Reebok Vector-TLS baseball bat is considered an illegal bat for all NJCAA competition based on this decertification.
-
The WSU Sports Science Lab does not have the 33" RBK Vector TLS listed. Only the 32" and 34". FHSAA will probably send out noticiaftion sometime today.

Maybe they are Poly-Wool. NOT!!! Sorry couldn't resist. This is more aimed at a previous poster. F'in hilarious! Its obvious you know everything about everything based on all of your posts on every single thread. D-bag.

You are joking right? Mostly all heather grey are a poly wool blend. At least the 16 different pairs I owned over the years were. Maybe Poly-Ester, not Poly-wool Well I guess the tags are lying then. Those sneaky manufacturers.

Just off the top of my head, I would wait for the defense to make a play at 2B. But I would need to do some homework to get the precise ruling.

I had one of these games last night. After 1st inning, home team is up 8-1. After 2 it is 15-1. I glance over at the home coach at the start of the bottom of 3 and very discretely act like I am swinging a bat. He politely nods, turns to his bench and says "be swinging guys." Got the next 12 outs in 30 minutes, game over.

Officials Choice Charcoal Grey Pants
kristoffae replied to umpirecordova's topic in Umpire Equipment
I also subscribed to this policy as well up until this year when I picked up a couple of their long sleeved shirts. They are a great product and are much more comfortable to work the dish on those brisk days, nights than wearing a jacket. I still hate the name on them and do not advertise to any one that I am wearing a "Smitty" shirt. -
I second this. When I used to work one man games, and especially on the big diamond, I would let the coaches know "What I see is what you get."
-
Driver being out as an illegal sub is all I can see. I would add that he is EJ from the game (I think FED says restricted to the bench). And any coach who lets this get as out of hand as this one did deserves to be fired.

Officials Choice Charcoal Grey Pants
kristoffae replied to umpirecordova's topic in Umpire Equipment
Ah, good ol' Officials Choice. My partner the other night had a pair of Officials Choice charcoals. First thing I noticed was the color. Extremely dark. The darkest charcoal I have seen yet (almost like they were a faded shade of black). I had on a pair of Gerry Davis and we were not even close to looking uniform. And then he wore the Officials Choice black shirt. The white stripes on the collar and cuffs were about 3 times as wide as any of the other black shirts I have seen out there. I told him to stop being so cheap, take a couple of game fees, spend the dough, and get some quality gear. As someone else has stated on here some time back, the Officials Choice motto is "Screwing up uniforms one umpire at a time." Could not be more true. -
Hilarious! $13 for this thing. I already have one. It is called my left hand. And the testimonial on there is even better: "The mask hook gives me a professional look, takes the hassel out of sticking my mask under my arm, and the freedom to use both hands." The translation of this is "The mask hook makes me look like a professional idiot and gives other umpires the urge to punch me in the face with both hands and then stick my mask in a very uncomfortable place."

No. If the balk is enforced, the count reverts back to what it was at the time of the balk.

This is one of those pieces of equipment that seems to always fall into the category of "Different for different folks."

To clarify, I did point at the batter and say "Thats interference" but did not kill it until after the play at 2nd went down. The moron from the stands point was that I needed to kill it IMMEDIATELY.
