    NFHS 3.3.1 Video

Is there any restrictions on where the coach can video from? Can they set up behind home plate? Does the coach need to tape or can a parent or student tape?
  2. Here's something different .........   This is a video of my old band performing the Trans Siberian Orchestra's "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo" (Carol of the Bells) .... not the best video, or sound, but ...you get the picture .... ENJOY!   7118629f95addafdac58a1867d4c38b2
  3. Hey everyone! I'm a little new here but I've come for your help! I am a young aspiring umpire out of Southwestern Virginia. I am 23 years old and currently attending university. This will be my 4th year in my association. But that is just a little introduction to my experience (I also do travel/rec/club games). The reason I am here at U-E is to introduce an awesome concept that I have been working on. Google currently offers an item called Google Glass. These are glasses that function much like a cell phone in the fact that they can access navigation, take pictures, Google search, make videos, text message, etc. (Here's a link: http://www.google.com/glass/start/ ). However, I am mostly interested in the video aspect since the video is taken exactly at eye level. I want to wear a pair behind the plate for a few of my games this year. This could be revolutionary for how the game is watched! The glass is incredibly small (so no distractions) plus they would conveniently fit behind the protection of my mask. There are 2 problems: availability and price. The first problem was solved about a week ago when Google sent me a purchase code (which I had to apply for and was about a year and half ago). So that leaves me with the cost. Being a college student means by "means" are frugal to say the least. But I truly believe this could be unprecedented. So I have ended up here hoping you would like to help my cause. I am crowd-funding to raise money to purchase the glasses. If you believe this could be incredible as well please donate anything! Every dollar counts! http://www.gofundme.com/72njj0 Plus if Umpire-Empire can help me raise the funds you guys will get exclusive access to the footage. I know I'm not in the minors and this is high school baseball, but it could all start here! Thanks, J
  4. Another good example of taking a play from Third Base Line Extended. And the adjustment the catcher had to make to get the tag. You get a nice view of what Welke sees in one of the angles shown.    http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=26180085&topic_id=vtp_must_c&c_id=mlb&tcid=vpp_copy_26180085&v=3
  5. Pretty easy call especially when the arm went up like that...   http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=26170397&topic_id=&c_id=mlb&tcid=vpp_copy_26170397&v=3
  6. There was a topic about passing on here the other day. It may have happend in the rays game today. Can't tell from the angle of the camera. What's everyone think? http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=26008665&topic_id=&c_id=mlb&tcid=vpp_copy_26008665&v=3
  7. Take a look at this...   http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=26005541&topic_id=11493214&c_id=mlb&tcid=vpp_copy_26005541&v=3
  8. Question ....   Is this proper mechanics for catcher's inteference (using the 'foul tip' mechanic) ??   Honest question...........   Sometimes I see it, sometimes I don't ....   http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=24929703&topic_id=&c_id=mlb&tcid=vpp_copy_24929703&v=3   http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=24929703&topic_id=&c_id=mlb&tcid=vpp_copy_24929703&v=3

  10. Hi guys. I'm a youth umpire, and am looking for feedback on my plate mechanics, timing, and basically anything else you can think of. Please don't be too harsh about my attire, because as a youth ump, I really don't have enough money to buy my own equipment, so I just use what the league provides. Any suggestions about affordable equipment, however, would be most welcome. Here are a few videos of me working the plate in a PONY game (11-12 yr olds). Please comment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfXOVl7ai1c

I don't know how old this is, but it's from a DVD obviously and just posted on Youtube January 5th ....   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RdytV1GQXI
  13. From watching a whole bunch of clips on this site, I've noticed something really strange. It seems that some MLB umpires aren't set when the pitch is delivered. In this clip for example, Jerry Layne is still moving down when the pitch is already on its way. http://mlb.mlb.com/n...ws_mlb&c_id=mlb Is this some sort of advanced mechanic?
  14. This is me behind the plate in a bronco game. I tried to incorporate the advice you gave me (wider stance, vocalize balls, don't call obvious fouls, say "foul" instead of "foul ball", ect.) Note the new gear . Alright guys, let me have it. Before you watch, 6:06 is my completely butchered attempt at a D3K mechanic . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJORdiDsB8A&feature=youtu.be
