System 7 harness all the way

No real options on replacing the padding for the Champion unless it was the Velcro version. With the full riveted version you are stuck with the stock padding.

Sewing is the way to go. I used tape when I first got it so I could dial it in and then once I nailed down the lengths, Le's alterations sewed them down for me.

Also, Sam entering as a pinch runner for Dave does not eliminate the DH in that situation. Sam would simply be the DH for Fred.
-
Dave and Fred are both starters and both have re-entry elgibility. Doesn't matter if Fred re-enters first or Dave re-enters first. Once either Dave or Fred re-enter, Sam is done. The sequence off the starters re-entering has no bearing on their elgibility to re-enter.

Agree with both above. In FED, a pinch hitter for the previous catcher cannot have a courtesy runner. The coach will say "but he is going to be the catcher." That is considered a projected sub which is not allowed. He is a pinch hitter until he takes a defensive position as the catcher. At that point he can have a courtesy runner.

A joke regarding tomorrow ....
kristoffae replied to Thunderheads's topic in Off-Topic/Funny Stories
An airplane crashes on the border of the US and Canada. Where do they bury the survivors? If you do this once in a day it is a good thing but if you do it more than once it is illegal and you can be arrested? -
That will definitely cover a Team Wendy retro on your gold or v-pro. Congrats!

Value of a Vintage West Vest w/ a Team Wendy Retrofit?
kristoffae replied to Thunderheads's topic in Buy, Sell or Trade
I am not a gold owner but did have my v-sport retrofitted and not that I would ever think of selling I would definitely place a premium cost on it well above to cost of the retrofit. I could see a premium of at least $50-$60 on top of the $130 cost of the retrofit. I would expect a gold to yield even a higher premium.- 23 replies

SoCal, See FED 8-4-1-i The batter-runner is out when: on a dropped third strike, he gives up by entering the bench or dugout area, or with two outs he does not attempt to reach first base before all infielders leave the diamond at the end of the half inning

As someone with a wife and three young kids, and a full time career, my advice is to manage your blocks well in advance. I try to project my work / life schedule at least three weeks out and stay up to date on my blocks in arbiter daily. If something changes with work / life, quickly get in to arbiter and update my blocks. My assignors like to assign games once and will fine you for declines when you did not have the day blocked. Remember, if you accept it, you own it. Remember to have good balance between work / family / umpiring.

Mask problem, Slot problem, or just a bad bounce??
kristoffae replied to mjr_2013's topic in Umpire Equipment
I would say not an issue with slot. Good slot setup will protect against those fouls that go whizzing by your ears. Bad bounces will find you even with the best of slot setups. -
It is really personal choice but search for the video of that kook who gets nut tapped from a pitching machine while wearing a nutty buddy. You will be sold.

How much for that bed spread?

Pretty much the same design as a variety of other CP's. If this is too high profile then you probably won't get much satisfaction from the other major brands. Unequal may be what you need to get a lower profile. Personally, I use a V-Sport which is the exact same design as the picture with Team Wendy retrofitted padding and it is extremely low profile.
