I would like to retain my source. So when I'm told something...I nod my head and agree. And offer gratitude for taking time to respond.

My apologies, I did not mean to sound as if I was castigating that aspect or your source.  On the contrary, I quite respect and appreciate that information.

It just doesn’t line up with the facts (18-24”, all in compliance).  Not your source’s fault.

Then again, Commissioner Bean Counter seems to be subscribing to the age old baseball adage: “Chicks don’t dig the interference call.  Make it all legal.”

Exhibit 4,378 to why they should just get rid of the whole F*#King rule.  It's just a crapshoot to how/when/why this gets called, and doesn't get called, even by the very best umpires on the planet.

You get better results, and less arguments, if you just used a Magic Eightball to make the call.

Drop RLI.  Treat INT with a thrown ball the same at all bases.

They've made it harder to enforce at MLB for sure. At least in my mind. So portions of the grass can now be legal if PU can see a part of 1B. That's a tough pill to swallow.
