No photo yet I will update later..  I am nearly about to cry though.

Getting ready for a game last night in the cold and wind I set my mask down on the bag on the back seat in my truck.  Grabbed my CP and got the harness untangled on that. As I grabbed the CP and slid it over my head I hear Swooch bang  clack and CHH I look down and there is my All Star FM4kMAG laying there on the tar face down.  F!  I pick it up and inspect it.  3 spots got dings/ scratches now

GRRR  it was so nice now I have messed it up.

My question is. Due to that fall ( about 3 feet ) Is the mask damaged now or can I repair it/ get it coated?

I will update later with a couple pics

A mask that light, falling to the ground from your car .... no, thats not even close to being damaged (scratched, sure, maybe) ...but not 'damaged'

That sucks brother, I don't think that even at 5feet it would be enough to damage a mask that takes 90+mph balls/foul balls to 'damage' it though

The paint on the Mag is very sensitive in my experience. I would agree with the above on damage. Send it off to Tony at Mask-it when you get a break in games; fix the cosmetic look and you should be good to go.

I am considering getting another so I have 2 "solid" masks

I still have my champro with some TW pads on it but it is way to cold to break that out right now with those TW pads

I don't know where you're at but you could find a powder coating business in your area, Temecula powder coating is where I take my stuff they charge me $30 per mask, so when I got my forced three mask powder coated since it was a two-part it cost me $60

Edit:

I just checked muskitsports.com for their information on powder coating so unless you have a local powder coating company to go to they charge $40, $18 shipping or more pending the area you live in I guess, and $60 for forced 3 mask is Fair since that's what I paid.  Well I do agree that supporting a fellow umpire is good thing $58 for powder coating that includes shipping, and the $40 charge is a bit much when I can get it $30 locally

TW's loosen up with warmth.  Put them near your heater exhaust and let it run a few minutes.  Then, the heat off your face should keep them soft enough until game ends.  Or just use your AS mag pads in your Champro while your Mag is in the shop.

@ArchAngel72 the umplife mask bags are pretty nice. I invested in a couple from ump-attire when I got a couple "nicer" masks.  They are neoprene, so they afford some padding.  And the mask pads aren't touching all the other stuff in your bag.  Might be a way to help protect your freshly powdercoated (gunmetal?) mask.

I have 2 or 3 mask bags now I had pulled it out and rested it on my open gear bag in prep of getting all ready while I was getting ready for the game. I just was clumsy and pulled it off the bag by mistake and well it slid off the bag hit the door sill and then of course landed on the pavement near my feet all while I was pulling my AS system 7 CP over my head and squeezing my dad bod into it. I looked down and well it nearly crushed my heart to see it pads up on the pavement I knew at that moment I had MESSED UP.

Tony will turn it around really quick for you if that’s what you choose to do

I left my FM25 mask on a folding chair and knocked it off on to the concrete. It was the second time I had worn it since Tony chopped it and powder coated it. I used some gloss black enamel model paint to touch it up.  I used a little sand paper to feather the edges and a couple coats.  No one knows but me and I have a hard time figuring out where it was dropped.

That's a good tip.  If it's just clear coat (I can see for this one its deeper) then you'd be surprised what fingernail polish can do!   I'd try some black polish and then put some matte coating over it before I paid $60-75 with shipping for a new powder-coat.

It now my turn.  Not sure when or how but I chipped the finish on my MAG4000.  I used some silver Testors model paint from Hobby Lobby and a paper match to dab it on. It’s a little brighter that I thought it would be. It came out fine.  I might add one more coat to really smooth it out.
